Hello friends! Just want to apologize for my abscence here, but I have come down with a severe flu and it has knocked me out! My hubby brought it home from work Friday and we have been battling with it ever since. My energy is completely zapped. Hopefully we will get better soon now that we have meds from doctor. If you are sick, please stay home.
I will be back as soon as I possibly can! Thanks for your kind support!
Hello friends! Are you longing for that rainy Springtime showers with lots of flowers because you’re tired of snow? I know that I’ve been wanting Spring to get here very soon! I thought I’d bring some of that feeling into my blog post this morning:
It’s my turn to post on the Sparkle N Sprinkle Blog today…so CLICK HERE to check it out if you want to see my post there or you can read details below too!
I wanted to incoporate both of these rubber stamp sets into my design, so I heat embossed the parasol image from the Showers of Tulips set and the bows from the May Showers set with SNS White EP over some Bristol Smooth Watercolor paper. I colored them in with my Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers and fussy cut them out with my scissors and set them aside.
For the background panel, I took another piece of watercolor paper and spritzed it with water to get it good and wet before sprinkling on some Nuvo Blue Blitz Shimmer Powder. I spritzed it again to really get the water moving around and manipulted the panel so that I could get the water drips going down the panel. Once this dried, I cut it out with the Tonic Basics Scalloped Square Dies.
Using my cut out parasol image for placement, I heat embossed the sentiment from the May Showers stamp set with the SNS Coffee EP where I wanted it over the watercolor panel. I then took the raindrops image from the same stamp set and stamped it with VersaMark ink repeatedly over the background and heat embossed it with that SNS Magic Speckle EP. (Remember this gorgeous pearly sheen it gave to my Winter Deer card from last week? I told you that I would be bringing it back out for another project! I am loving the look it gave the raindrops here. Don’t forget that this powder is a tad bit thicker than normal embossing powder, so heat from underneath your project to help melt it so it doesn’t blow all over.) I’ve also added some Nuvo Morning Dew Crystal Drops to the center of each drop for more dimension and shine to get a nice wet water look to it! This was set aside to dry for a bit.
I took another piece of cardstock (slightly larger than the watercolor panel) and rubbed my VersaMark Ink pad along the edges to heat emboss it with the SNS Coffee EP. I attached these layers together and then glued some craft foam behind it for dimension.
I’ve used a blue 5″ square top folding card base for my design and took a piece of white doily I had from my stash and glued it on with some SNS Dimensional Glue. I then added a strip of white cardstock covered with a piece of 1/2″ Tear-iffic Tape going diagnolly across the card base and burnished some Sunny Daze glitter over it.
Finally I added the watercolor and embossed layers over top of the card base and then took my fussy cut images and added them to the design with some foam dots.
I hope you’ve enjoyed my Spring Showers card today and it’s inspired you in some way! I thank you SO MUCH for dropping in! I appreciate all of the kind comments and a big welcome to my new followers…love meeting fellow crafty friends!!

Right now, Whimsy Stamps is holding a special Facebook Event called “Adopt Don’t Shop” party and we would love as many people (and fur friends) as possible to join with us for this special party with fun games, giveaways and lots of inspiration! This event will finish up tomorrow (Feb 17th) at noon…they have released an ADORABLE free digital image as well….so click on the party link above to join in the fun!
Remember if you purchase one of the following stamps sets, $1 USD per stamp set will be donated to the Gulf Coast Humane Society! (Click on the photos below to view/purchase in the Whimsy Stamps store.)
And of course it can’t be a fun party without some crafting involved, right?!! So since that little doxie pup on the end was calling to my heart reminding me of my forever angel girl Mocca (on the sidebar of my blog here), I wanted to make something with that:
Gosh this was SO fun to color! That sheep dog in the background cracks me up!! 🙂
I have used the Adopt Don’t Shop DOGS clear stamp set and colored them up with my Copic Markersalong with the grassy hill they’re on. I also added some clouds behind the pups with a stencil and foam ink blending tool with blue ink.
For the hearts paper behind them, I’ve used a left over strip from the Hearts A Flutter Digital Paper Collection and attached this strip to the background of my white A2 top folding card base. I layered the doggie panel onto a strip of black cardstock and mounted it over the heart background.
For the sentiment, I’ve layered it onto another piece of black cardstock and attached it in the corner of the doggie panel. I used a circle punch to punch out the paw print and added it to the layout with a foam dot.
Here’s a closer view of the image and how I’ve colored the pups. Do they not make you smile or what?!
The dogs were mainly colored with the Copic ‘E’, ‘C’ and ‘W’ families.
Thanks so much for dropping in this evening and I really hope you will help join us in this special Fund Raiser! CLICK HEREto join the Facebook Adopt Don’t Shop Party and play along with us until tomorrow!
I know I have been very busy this week, but I will be trying to catch up with you all very soon! Have a wonderful weekend!
I wanted to share the Valentine card I made for my hubby on Valentine’s Day yesterday, but I couldn’t share it on my blog until after he got it because he can be known to be a “stalker” on my blog to see what I’m up to!! LOL!
I have been becoming quite the stalker myself with some companies over the last serveral months and have collected a few products that I’ve been wanting to have a play with! So for my Valentine’s card, I dug into my Brutus Monroe “Love Bug” Inspiration Box and had a play:
Since this was January’s Inspiration Box, it’s since been sold out (I have a monthly subscription to them of course), but I see that you can still purchase the stamp set called Love Bug which is what stamp set was included in the Inspiration Box. AND…since I’m a stalker, I also joined the “Stencil of the Month” club as well which was January’s stencil here that I’ve used on my background! And just in case you’re curious, there are SEVERAL different subscriptions you can check out by CLICKING HERE to see them all. (In case you’re wondering, the price listed includes the shipping cost and once you are a subscriber, you get a discount on your purchases too!) The customer service is pretty awesome too! Very friendly and fun people! 🙂
OK…now that I’ve done my “rave review” of them, onto my card:
I’ve colored up these super cute “wasps” with Copics and for the wings and hearts there is a bit of shimmer on them as you can see in the photo. For that I have used the Brutus Monroe Aqua Pigments Valentine Collection plus the Aqua Pigment Pearl for the wings. (The shimmer is amazing on these watercolors!) I heat embossed the sentiment from the stamp set with BM Alabaster EP and I cut the banner myself with scissors and mounted it over the card with the BM Foam Tape. (There is 108 ft. of this stuff and it comes shipped in a large pizza box people!!) The little wooden Convo heart accent is also an “in-house” laser cut from Brutus Monroe. (on sale for 13 more days!) Lastly, I took some Nuvo White Crystal Drops and added a few dots here and there around the hearts.
I’ve cut the “wasps” out with a stitched circle die and mounted it over some cardstock from the kit that was cut with a scallop circle die.
So for the background of my card, as I had mentioned above, I’m in the Stencil of the Month Club and this was January’s stencil in the background which is a huge heart with several hearts inside of it! I took some BM Wagon Ink and sponged it over my white card front background. (His ink does NOT react with moisture), so for this reason, I was able to take some Nuvo Moonstone Glitter Paste and go over it to add sparkly dimension to it! LOVE how it turned out! I stamped a couple more hearts from the “Love Bug” stamp set in the bottom corner and colored them the same as the hearts with the “wasps” using the same Aqua Pigments collection. I also added more dots with the Nuvo White Crystal Drops. I layered this onto a piece of red cardstock (from the box) and cut it out with a scallop rectangle die and then mounted this entire design onto an A2 sized top folding white card base. The envelope underneath was used to house the card in and I embellished it with some heart glitter stickers that was included in the box as well.
I was SO impressed that hubby actually knew what image product I used on this! LOL! He’s heard me talking about it and watching Christopher’s videos!! 🙂
Now if you remember this post I had a few weeks ago where I had started (late of course) making up my calendar pages for 2019 to put in my stamp room, I needed to make up a couple more of them as the time keeps on ticking…..
For the image area, I’ve used a rainbow die from Lawn Fawn and cut it out in several different colors to create rainbow strips which I’ve added to the backside of the black scallop frame from the TE Build A Scene – Calendar 2 die set. I’ve also cut out a strip of grass from the Build A Scene – Calendar die set. The sentiment (from the same stamp set) was stamped with black pigment ink and clear heat embossed over a strip of vellum which I cut into a banner with scissors and then attached it to the corner of the black frame.
Here’s a closer view of the image panel. I colored the image with Copic markers and then cut it out with the coordinating TE Calendar Grumplings die set. I’ve also added some Nuvo White Blizzard Glitter Drops over the clover.
And here’s my April Calendar card using the same stamp set, coordinating dies and 2019 pre-printed calendar cards. I slightly cut the edges to mat the blue cardstock behind it as well. I’ve used this same color of cardstock to cut the frame from the TE Build A Scene – Calendar Dies. I stamped the sentiment onto a strip of white cardstock and made a banner with my scissors and attached it behind the frame on the top left side. (I’ve also used this same die set to cut a couple of clouds and sponged some gray ink at the bottom of each one.
For the bottom of the frame, I took a piece of vellum and cut out that piece from the Build A Scene – Calendar 2 dies. I took a glitter brush pen to add some sparkle to this piece of vellum so it make it look like a “rain puddle” he’s standing in.
For this elephant image, I also colored him up with Copic markers and cut him out with the coordinating dies. I attached him along with the clouds over the panel where I wanted them to be. I cut out some “rain drops” with vellum, but ended up not being able to see them very well, so I took the Nuvo White Blizzard Glitter Drops and went over them and then created more “rain drops” with it….I ended up liking that effect better, but I had already attached the vellum and just decided to leave it and go over them. LOL!
There you go, that just tells you that I’m either getting old and my sight is failing me or I just have been continuously crafting until I’m blinding myself!! ha!
I hope you’ve enjoyed my crafty makes today and I will be back again tomorrow to share a special post with you for a VERY special cause and I hope you can join me to share in this event!! So please be sure to come back tomorrow!
Have a great Friday evening and thanks for dropping by!
Hello friends! It’s Thursday already which means it’s time for a brand new challenge over at Cute Card Thursday! This is a really fun one to play with! This week we’d like to see your “Wings” things! Can’t wait to see what everyone makes!!
This week we are being sponsored by All Dressed Up Stamps and I have used one of their lovely images for my card today:
Isn’t she the sweetest little thing? I have used the Fairy Magic image that was kindly donated from our sponsor and I have colored her up using Copic markers. I’ve also sponged some light blue ink around the image panel before matting it onto a green sparkly layer cut with a scallop square die. I also used some craft foam to pop up the image panel over my card for a bit of dimension.
I have just bought these gorgeous Fairy Garden papers from Kaiser Craft and used them on the background panel of my card. I also used some gorgeous shimmery light green cardstock to go with it! I’ve taken a thin strip of the glitter cardstock and attached it up against the butterfly papers and then attached some lace over it. I then mounted this entire panel over a white top folding 5″ x5″ card base.
Here’s a closer view of the coloring and the little sparkly details I’ve added to her. For the wings, I’ve taken a glitter brush pen over them and then used some metallic colored gel pens to add some dots to her wings as well as the butterfly wings along with some gold dots around her ribbons and the sentiment.
Here you can also see the wood veneer butterfly accent that I’ve added at the top. I painted it with white gesso and then painted over it with some pretty pearl shimmer paint before attching it to the card.
Lastly, I’ve added three pearls at the bottom left corner of the card. In this photo you can see the pretty shimmer on the light green background cardstock. It was hard to capture in the photos, but the butterfly papers are sparkle embossed as well.
I hope you’ve enjoyed my creation today and are inspired to come join the challenge with us this week for Cute Card Thursday! Please be sure to stop by and see the rest of the inspiration from the design team as well!
Thanks so much for dropping in today and I’ll see you again tomorrow as I will announce the winner from my Turner Syndrome Awareness Blog Hop Giveaway!! Stay tuned!!
Hello friends! As I had mentioned in yesterday’s post, we are currently being hit with snow AND ice over my way…so I might as well embrace it, right?! Although I’ve been trying to sneak in some Spring creations, I also enjoy creating Christmas/Winter cards throughout the year so that I can take my time and not be hurried during the rush of the Season at the end of the year which makes it more enjoyable…and peaceful! 🙂
You can also get a Digital Version [DIGI935J] -(includes more sentiments/pre-colored) of this stamp set if you prefer that to rubber, but I have used the rubber stamp set for my card here. I started out with a piece of watercolor paper and used the Blue Blitz [1208N] and Atlantis Burst [1213N] Nuvo Shimmer Powders to create the background by spritzing it with water until I achieved the look I wanted and set aside to dry.
I cut this panel out with an oval die and using my cut out deer for reference to see where I wanted to position the sentiment, I embossed the sentiment from the stamp set with White EP [EP166] . I used some Magic Speckle EP [EP175] for a really cool background effect over the watercolor panel! (You can see it better in the photos below.) I’ve used both SNS Dimensional Glue as well as foam dots to attach the deer image and oval layers together. I’ve used both white cardstock as well as some gold mirror cardstock for the layered panels.
Here’s a closer look at the Copic coloring I’ve done on the deer as well as the Magic Speckle EP effect on the background! Since it’s a thicker type of powder, I didn’t attach it with anything. I just added “piles” of it where I wanted and melted it from underneath so it didn’t blow all over. Loving how it has that “icy look” to it! I’m using this same EP again soon! So stay tuned!
So for the glittery background panel behind the oval layers, I took a piece of white cardstock and attached it with a piece of the SNS Super Adhesive Sheets [SAS02] and die cut it out with a scallop rectangle die. I removed the release paper from it and burnished some of the same Sparkling Snow Glitter [G1003] into this panel. I attached it over another piece of gold mirror cardstock and then wrapped some organdy ribbon around it and attached a bow along the side.
These layers were attached to an A2 sized top folding white card base and then the oval layers were attached over the glitter panel next to the bow.
I hope you’ve enjoyed my card today and got inspired to keep ahead of making your Christmas cards this year! Thank you so much for dropping in! I really appreciate your kindness and support so much!! (Reading your comments always brightens my day more than you know! HUGS)

Hello friends! Hope that you are having a great week so far! There is plenty of ice and snow over my way for the next several days, so I thought I would bring a little ‘happy’ today with a “Fistful of Flowers” from Whimsy Stamps!
Isn’t she the cutest?! This was originally released as a rubber stamp from Crissy Armstrong, but this month it has been released in digital format now as well! Weather you like to stamp your images or print them out, you may be able to have both options! So if you have ever wished that some of the stamps you like would come out in digital form….please be sure to check the website to see if it has been re-released as a digital!
I have to be honest and say that after I had colored in the image, I was struggling with the colors of cardstock I wanted to use and it seemed that anything I picked out wasn’t quite working. (You ever have this problem?) My hubby came in to visit me and I told him I was struggling, so he took me over to my paper and picked out these colors and I liked it, so I went with it! Did he do good? 🙂
I have cut a piece of yellow cardstock out and then took the WS Mom’s Layered Flowers clear stamp set(one of my old faves!) and white heat embossed the background with one of the daisy images. I wrapped a piece of white ribbon around the yellow embossed piece that was also mounted onto a white 4.25 x 5.5 card front piece. After wrapping the ribbon around both pieces, I added a bow and this panel was then mounted onto a white top folding A2 sized card base.
The colored image panel was layered with a blue cardstock which I’ve also cut a piece for a fishtail banner and added some daisy accent flowers to it.
This cutie has been colored up with the following Copics: (Click on affiliate links below to purchase from Whimsy Stamps)
I took a glue pen and added some clear glitter over the edge of the flower petals for a bit of sparkle. You can see that the daisy accents also have some light touches of glitter on the edges as well.
So I hope you’ve enjoyed my card today and check out all of the fun things going on and coming up with Whimsy Stamps!

Happy Thursday friends! 🙂 It’s Thursday and that means it’s time for a NEW Cute Card Thursday challenge this week! So this week it’s our beginning of the month “ANYTHING GOES” challenge! We can’t wait to see your creations!
Are YOU thinking Spring too?! I am, but I don’t think it’s working very well with the snow, cold and ice we’ve been getting! LOL! So I will stay warm inside and bring my thoughts of Spring to my craft room!
I am using this really sweet digital image from Whimsy Stamps called Think Spring Bunnies by Crissy Armstrong. It was previously released as a rubber stamp, but now it’s available in digital format! I have printed out this image and used the following Copic Markers for coloring:
(Click each number below to purchase from Whimsy Stamps. *Please note that if you click on a link and it’s not in stock, you can enter your e-mail address to be notified when it comes back in stock. If there’s not link, it’s not found in store.*)
Here’s a closer view of the colored image. I have also used a white gel pen in the bunny’s tails as well as the spotted bunny’s cheeks. I also took a Wink of Stella clear glitter brush pen to go over the butterfly and the flying bug’s wings.
It was so fun to color these furry bunny butts!! 🙂
I’ve used some of the digital papers released last month called Oh Boy…really loving the ginghams in this set! So I’ve cut out both these papers along with some solid yellow papers (from same set) and the colored bunny strip with the Whimsy Stamps Hand Stitched Nested Rectangles dies. I also took a strip of gray colored cardstock and used an older border die from Whimsy Stamps to create the scalloped edge.
These were all layered onto a white A2 sized top folding card base. I wrapped some twine along the edge and tied it in a bow and then lastly I’ve added some yellow crystals from Pretty Pink Posh randomly over the card.
Really hop(e) you’ve enjoyed my card today and please check out the Cute Card Thursday challenge blog to see what the rest of the design team has come up with! Thanks so much for dropping in!!
Whimsy Stamps products used: (Copics see list above.)
Hello friends! With the cold weather and ice around my area, I thought it would be nice to turn my attention towards the month of May with my creation today:
I have used this gorgeous new February digital stamp set from Sparkle N Sprinkle called May Day Floral Nosegay. I have printed out the pre-colored floral images and fussy cut them out for this card. The sentiment in the center of the wreath is also from this same set which I’ve printed out as well and then cut it out with the Tonic Scalloped Squares Basic die set and sponged around the edges with some blue ink.
For the wreath, I’ve used the Tonic Rococo Fern Garland die and cut it out once in green cardstock and another in white cardstock. For the white one I cut the ribbon area only and covered this piece with VersaMark ink which was heat embossed with some Sweetheart EP. (This is such a pretty EP with lots of sparkle! See below!)
I also heat embossed this same Sweetheart EP along the edges of a white cardstock that I cut out to layer behind the wreath panel. The heat embossed bow was glued over the green wreath and then the entire wreath was centered over the sentiment panel. I also then layered these panels onto a piece of black cardstock. I also put some craft foam behind this panel for some dimension on my card.
For the tiny flowers behind a couple of the white flowers, I took my Clear Mark Embossing Pen and heat embossed the very tips with the same EP as above. All of these cut flowers were attached with the SnS Dimensional Glue onto the wreath with a couple popped up for dimension. I also took some Nuvo Honey Gold Glitter Drops for the centers of the flowers as you can see in the photo above.
Lastly, for the base of my card, I cut a piece of A2 sized top folding card base with a light blue cardstock. I also used this same cardstock color to cut out a couple of pieces using the Tonic Elegant Columns die set…so pretty! I sponged some white ink around the edges of them and attached them to the card base. I cut off the edges that were sticking out with my scissors. (You can see the die I’ve used in the photo above.)
If you get a chance, hop on over to the Sparkle N Sprinkle website to check out the entire new Release for February! – CLICK HERE! (It’s the first 8 sets shown.) Also don’t forget if you go shopping, you can get 10% off your entire order by using my special code below:
