2 Crafty Critter Crazies Has So Mushroom

Hello friends!!  Yay!  Welcome to June!  I am hoping that this month will be a bit more dry than what it has been lately.  I’m growing tired of flash floods!  Rain vibes sent to those that need it too!

Today starts a brand new monthly challenge over at 2 Crafty Critter Crazies as well!  So please hop on over there and play along with us!  It’s an easy challenge!  All you have to do is add a critter somewhere on your project!  That’s it!

So here’s what I’ve made for the challenge:

Vicki-2CCC27-RickDennis

Isn’t he a cutie?  Now, I’ve never seen a teddy bear on a mushroom before, but they look so happy together, so I think it works! 🙂  Our sponsor for this challenge is Rick ST Dennis and we were provided some images to use.  I’ve used one of the images from the 2 Bearii Kawaii digital stamp set. (click on the link to see both images included.)

After coloring him up, I’ve used the Lawn Fawn Stitched Rectangle dies to cut him out with and then I’ve used some Tumbled Glass Distress Ink and an ink blending tool to go around the edges with it.  I also used this ink and tool to sponged some clouds in the background on a white piece that was cut with another Stitched Rectangle die.  I thought it would be fun to add some splatters, so I carefully covered up the image and added some splatters with the same distress ink that was watered down and splattered both the cloud background and image panel.

For the bottom of the card, I cut a piece of green card stock with the LF Mushroom Border die.  I also used this die set to cut out the mushrooms with some vanilla and red cardstock.  I white heat embossed the punny sentiment at the bottom of the grass border from the LF Oh Gnome stamp set.  I’ve attached these borders to the bottom of my cloud panel and lined it up to cut it out again with the stiched rectangle die so that it matched with the background of the card.

I then added some twine around the cloud panel and then attached this piece over top of a white top folding A2 sized card base.  Lastly, I took some foam tape and added it to the image panel and then attached the twine bow with the chipboard heart in the center of the bow.

Here’s a closer view of the image details.  I’ve colored the image with Copic markers and then went over the bear’s bow with a glitter brush pen.  The white dots on the mushroom was covered with some Nuvo Glitter Drops.  For a bit more personality, I have decided to take a black marker and make dots in the center of the eyes on both the mushroom and the teddy bear.  I’ve also added some white dots on the teddy bear’s cheeks.

Flying Dragon for 2 Crafty Critter Crazies

Hello friends!  Welcome to May!  Yay!  I’m so happy that my flowers are finally up and blooming!  It always brings a smile to face when I see the coloful blooms!

~Today’s post is a pre-scheduled post as I am away at our annual “Painting Divas” Craft Retreat with some local friends.  I am teaching a class today which is why I’ve been a bit MIA around social media and my blog as I’ve been preparing for it.  I promise that I will share photos of our event later at the end of this week.~

Today is the 1st of the month which also means the start of a new monthly challenge over the 2 Crafty Critter Crazies challenge blog!  All you have to remember is that you need to use a critter somewhere on your creation…that’s it!  The sponsor we have for this month is Fabrika Fantasy:

Vicki-2CCCMay

I have used this adorable digital image kindly provided to us from our sponsor called Flying Elf.  I love how that dragon is looking up at her! 🙂

After coloring her in, I’ve taken a cloud stencil and sponged in some clouds behind her to give the appearance of being in the air!  I’ve used the ink foam blending tool and distress inks for that.  I then cut out the image panel with a cross-stitch rectangle die from Lawn Fawn and then used a cloud border die also from LF to cut out along the bottom that also adds to the “cloudy” feel of the design.  I stamped a sentiment from a My Favorite Things stamp set.

I wanted to add a “magical” element to my design, so I found some really cool cosmos looking papers from my stash and added that as a layer underneath the image panel which I popped up a bit with foam tape.  I then added a purple shimmer ribbon with a bow around the bottom portion and layerd it over a piece of gold mirror cardstock and then an addtional piece of black cardstock that was layered over a white A2 sized top folding card base.  Lastly, I added some black pearls in the upper right of the image panel.

Vicki-2CCCMay-close

Here you can see a closer view of the coloring I did on the image.  I’ve colored it in with my Copic markers.  Then on her belt, the trim on her boot and the middle of the dragon bridle, I colored those in with a gold gel pen.  Such a cute image!

Vicki-2cccMay-flat

Here’s a better view where you can see the shine from the gold mirror cardstock.  It helps to add a “magical” feel to the design I think.

Please do hop on over to the 2 Crafty Critter Crazies challenge blog and have a look at what the rest of the design team has come up with for inspiration!  Get our your critter products/images and come enter our challenge this month!  We can’t wait to see what you come with!

Thanks so much for dropping by!  I appreciate you being here with me!  Hope to catch up with you all at the end of this week to see what you’re up to!

I will be back tomorrow with another pre-scheduled post and something new!

2 Crafty Critter Crazies – You are my Happy

Hello friends!!  Happy April Fool’s Day! 🙂

Well there’s “no fooling” here today as I bring you a post to share the creation I’ve made for a new challenge over at the 2 Crafty Critter Crazies Challenge Blog!  Since it’s the first of April, we have a brand new challenge starting with the “Anything Goes + critter” theme in mind!  Hope you will join us with your critter creations!

We are being sponsored by Digi Doodle Studios and this is the card I made for the challenge this month:

Vicki-2CCC-DigiDoodle-Mia

Our sponsor was kind enough to share this very sweet image called Mia which I’ve used for my card today.  This is my first experience with these images and I must say they have some really cute ones in their store, so hop on over and check them out!

I’ve colored her up with Copic markers including drawing extended lines for the grass and coloring it up all the way across and down.  I cut it out with a cross stitched rectangle die and then used a sun ray stencil to ink some yellow behind  her by taping off the grass edge so I didn’t get any on that part.  I then stamped the sentiment in black ink over top of that.

To continue on with the yellow color theme I’ve got going on, I cut out a piece of yellow glitter cardstock that was cut out with a scallop rectangle die (retired from Lawn Fawn) and attached it to the back of the image panel.  I took some plaid papers for the bottom portion of the A2 white top folding card base and then attached some yellow grosgrain ribbon across the top and then attached the image panel and then added a yellow ribbon bow along the edge.  Lastly I finished it out with some yellow rhinestone crystals.

Vicki-2CCC-DigiDoodle-Mia-close

Here’s a closer look at the coloring I’ve done on the image.  I took a black gel pen to color in the eyeballs circles.  I wasn’t sure how to go about coloring the eyes, but this is the way that made the most sense to me.  I also went around the edges of the butterfly with the black gel pen.  I took a glitter brush pen and went over the liquid in her cup.

Vicki-2CCC-DigiDoodle-Mia-flat

I have to add that this image really got me thinking about past memories with my sweet little Mocca and how we would go out on nice Spring days like this.  She certainly was always “my happy” for sure and I still miss her like crazy.  I’m sure any of you that have lost pets understand what I’m saying.   It’s great to have the memories we’ve shared after all this time!

Please be sure to hop on over to the 2 Crafty Critter Crazies blog and check out the rest of the inspiration from the design team and play along with us this month!  Looking forward to seeing your critter creations!

Thanks so much for stopping by!  I appreciate it so much!

2 Crafty Critter Crazies February Challenge is Here!

Hello friends!  **This is my first of 2 posts today, but be sure to stop by right after this post for the final post this morning with a special blog hop and prizes available to win!**

Today starts our brand new February challenge over at 2 Crafty Critter Crazies!  Remember that this is an always ANYTHING GOES challenge, but you must include a critter somewhere on your project to enter!

We are being sponsored this month by Sparkle N Sprinkle!  The DT has created some wonderful creations using their products, so go check it out and play along with us this month!  Here’s what I’ve created for the challenge:

vicki-ribbonsoflove-glittercard-project4

I have used this gorgeous January digital stamp release from SnS called Ribbons of Love [DIGI933DE] which was created by my wonderful blog friend Donna Ellis!  If you stay tuned in later, you will see another creation I’ve made for the blog hop using this same set!  It’s a very beautiful and versatile set to have!

For this card, I’ve used the uncolored images and placed the images together how I wanted them to appear in a Word doc and then printed it out.  I printed out an extra butterfly so that I could cut it out and pop it up over the design for dimension.  All of the butterflies were colored with Copics.

For the background of my card, I took some Demo Donna’s Lace and placed it over top of a piece of cardstock that I’ve covered with a Super Adhesive Sheet.  I then sprinkled some Caspia Sea glitter and burished it over the lace layer.  (Sometimes I use the backing from the adhesive sheet to help burnish it in.)  After I felt it was burnished in, I removed the lace layer and sprinkled on some Lemonade glitter over the rest which gave me the unique glittery lace background!  As you can see, I’ve also taken a small strip of it to add to my design.  I have layered that piece with a strip of black fishtail banner and tied a white ribbon bow to attach over it.  The butterfly image panel was cut, layered with black cardstock and attached over the middle of the glittery background which as also layered with black cardstock and attached to an A2 sized white top folding card base.

vicki-ribbonsoflove1

Looking more closely at the card, you can better see the glittery background along with the coloring on the butterflies.  The two butterflies at the top was brushed with some Sparkle N Sprinkle Brushable Glue and then I sprinkled some Diamond Dust glitter over top of their wings for a bit more sparkle.  I glued the center of the yellow butterfly down and popped up the wings with my finger for a bit of dimension.

Please be sure to check out the 2Crafty Critter Crazies blog for more inspiration from the rest of the design team and I hope to see your critter creation in the gallery this month!

Thanks for stopping in…stay tuned in for my next special post!!

Celebrating at 2 Crafty Critter Crazies With a New Challenge For 2019!

**I have 2 posts coming up today!  This is post 1 of 2**

Hello friends!!  Happy New Year to you!!  I hope you’ve enjoyed the celebrating with your famly and friends!  Are you excited about a brand new 2019?!  I sure am!  I’ve got lots in store to share with you this year!  Hope you’re looking forward to it as much as I am!!

Let’s start this year off with a brand new challenge over at 2 Crafty Critter Crazies, shall we?  Every first of the month there’s a brand new “Anything Goes” challenge…BUT you must use a critter somewhere on your project is all!

Vicki-2CCC22-Bugaboo

Isn’t this guy adorable?!  I have used one of our sponsor’s image for my card today from Bugaboo.  This is the Critter Balloons – elephant digital stamp.  I have actually cut him out twice and colored him in, but I cut just his head and the balloon to pop them up with some foam tape for a little dimension.

I’ve made a Center Step Card for my design today.  I kept the dimensions at an A2 standard size when it lays flat so that it will still fit inside an A2 envelope for mailing.

I’ve used some fun birthday style papers from my old stash and then I’ve used a sentiment from My Favorite Things More Essential Sentiments and white heat embossed it over a piece of black cardstock that I cut out with the Die-namics Essential Fishtail Sentiment Strips.  Lastly I added some silver ribbon above that.

Vicki-2CCC22-Bugaboo-close

Here’s a bit of a close-up to see the dimension over the image.  I’ve also taken a glue pen over the balloon image and added some clear sparkly glitter over it.

Hope that you’ve enjoyed my card today and please be sure to stop in over at the 2 Crafty Critter Crazies challenge blog to see more inspiration from the rest of the design team!  We look forward to seeing what you come up with this month!

I’ll be back very quickly with a second post today!

  2. A Perfect Time to Craft – Anything Goes

A Christmas Pig for 2 Crafty Critter Crazies Challenge

Hello friends!  Here we are in December already!  Christmas will be here before you know it!  I think this is a great time to remember to pull out your critter supplies and have some fun with them while you make up your Christmas projects too!  The first of the month brings us a new challenge over at the 2 Crafty Critter Crazies blog!  So come play along with us this month!  It’s ALWAYS anything goes as long as you use a critter(s) somewhere on your project!  We look forward to seeing what you come up with!

Here’s what I’ve made for the challenge this month:

Vicki-2CCC-QKR

This month our lovely sponsor is QKR Stampede and they were kind enough to allow our design team to choose an image to play with!  I have to tell you that this image made me literally *snort* when I saw it!!  LOL!  I have used the Christmas Pig image for my card.  I think this piggy is too cute with his present all neatly wrapped next to the decorated tree while he gets sleepy waiting for Santa to come! 🙂  I do recall growing up in the country and having a couple of pigs.  I always wondered about them in the cold, but we had a place they could come inside the barn to stay warm.  They were funny to listen to, but I always thought they were too stinky to get too close! LOL

I decided to color the image with my Copics and then I fussy cut it out and layered it over a piece of red cardstock.  For the base of my card, I took an A2 top folding red cardstock and then layered a piece of decorative paper from DCWV and then also attached a strip of white glitter paper on each side of it.  I then took some woodgrain cardstock that I’ve previously made and die cut a fence border out with it and placed it across my design.

I then took the layered image panel and attached it over the card with craft foam and then added the ribbon with some red jingle bells attached to the bow and attached the die cut greeting below that with red cardstock.

Vicki-2CCC-QKR-close

Upon a closer look at the image panel, you can see that I’ve added some Nuvo Crystal Drops Morning Dew to each red ornament on the tree and then I’ve taken a gold gel pen to color the star on top of the tree along with a clear gel pen to color the star outside the window.  For the snow covered ground in the window, I’ve used some Sparkle N Sprinkle Ultrafine Waterscape Glitter attached with a Nuvo Smooth Precision glue pen.  I’ve also used this pen to attach some Sparkle N Sprinkle Twinkling Clouds Flocking to the piggy’s hat trimmings!  It makes the area so soft and fuzzy plus it has a bit of sparkle added to it too!

I hope you’ve enjoyed my creation and be sure to stop by the challenge blog to check out the rest of the design team’s inspiration and enter your creation in the gallery this month!  We look forward to seeing what you create!!

Thanks for stopping by!  Please come back a bit later as I have something very special for you!

A Beary Sweet Christmas Tag for 2 Crafty Critter Crazies (2nd Post of 3 today)

Hello friends!  I’m back with another new challenge for you today!

It’s the first of the month, so that means it’s time for a new monthly challenge over at 2 Crafty Critter Crazies!  As always the challenge will last for 1 whole month and all you need to remember is to add a critter to your creation!  We look forward to seeing your critter makes this month!

Our sponsor for the challenge this month is Sparkle N Sprinkle!  They were kind enough to supply our team with some darling images to use for our creations!  Here’s what I’ve decided to make for my design:

Vicki-2CCC-SnS-tag

I have used this darling digital stamp set called A Peppermint Christmas  [DIGI3148M] from Sparkle N Sprinkle.  They offer colored versions with this digital set, but I opted to use this  cute polar bear and place the frame around him along with adding the sentiment above his head so I could color it.  I used a Word doc. to design it before printing it out.  Once printed out, I cut it down to size for my black tag and rounded the corners with a corner chomper.

I’ve been trying to develop my skills a bit with colored pencils and invested in a large set of them recently.  So this is what I have used to color in the images of my tag.  After coloring it all in, I thought…. I couldn’t use a Sparkle N Sprinkle image with no sparkle!! So I took out my Quicky Glue Pen [quicky] and then sprinkled some SnS Waterscape Glitter (Semi-Transparent) [G1108] over the snowflakes and dark gold star bursts.  For the stars, I’ve sprinkled the SnS Lemonade Ultrafine Glitter (Semi-Transparent) [G1091] over it for a bit more brighter sparkle!  I’ve also covered the peppermint candies with the Nuvo Aqua Shimmer Glitter Gloss Pen [888N] for some shimmer.  AND…if that wasn’t enough, I took the Quickly Glue Pen again and went along the edges of the white image panel and added the Waterscape Glitter to the edges.

For the assembly of my tag, I’ve used a pre-made tag from Graphic 45 and sponged around the edges of it with white ink.  I took some green colored glitter paper from my stash and added a strip of it across the center of the black tag.  I then added some pink silk ribbon strips on each side of the glitter paper.  I then used some craft foam to pop up the image panel and placed it on the tag.

I finished it off with a pink silk ribbon bow and added some more of it to the tag hole for a hanging element and tied that together with a piece of white twine.  Decided for a finishing touch to add a sparkly snowflake gem in the center of the bow.

I hope that you have enjoyed my critter project and be sure to check out the rest of the inspiration from the design team over at the 2 Crafty Critter Crazies Challenge Blog and come and join in the fun with us!

I have some REALLY exciting news coming up shortly after this post!!!  TEE HEE!!
