HOliday Sweets Challenge Reminder for {Cupcake Inspirations}🥧

Hello friends!  Hope you had a wonderful weekend!  I first would like to say a huge thank you to those that have mentioned they were going to send out a Christmas card for Danny (mentioned in previous post below).  I think it will be so exciting to see how many cards he receives and from where around the world!  I think this will help bring him much needed cheer!

Today I have a fun creation with more inspiration for our “Holiday Sweets” challenge over at the {Cupcake Inspirations} blog!  So, I hope that you will drop on over, check out the inspirations from the rest of the sweeties and come share your delicious Holiday Sweets creations with us!

I’m still in a “cookie” mode and looking forward to making some traditional Christmas cookies in my own kitchen soon…so I’ve played around with a recent card kit I’ve received:

I’ve created a cozy and festive table scene full of delicious Christmas cookie treats using several products from an older Christmas card kit and a few other items.  First of all, the cookies from that kit were super fun to put together!  It comes with all the dies and stamps you need to decorate a (craft) cookie with!

I started my card with an A2 sized top folding kraft cardstock piece and used some of the Winter Cabin Papers to create my scene for the “table” and background. The cookies were all created with the stamps, dies and some paper from the kit, but I added some White EP for the frosting and some red Nuvo Crystal Drops for decoration.  There was a felt circle cut in the kit that I cut off to attach over my “table” to place the cookies on.  I also heat embossed the sentiment from the stamp set in the kit with Raven Sparkle EP and die cut with a banner from my stash.  I went around the edges of it with some white Ink.

The hot cocoa mug came from a previous card kit that I stamped, colored and cut out to place on my table scene.  I took the whole scene and layered it over a black piece of cardstock included in the kit and added it to my card base.

Here’s a closer look at those cookies!  You can see that the die cuts have cut the images out right up next to the image line.  I also took a glue pen and added some chunky style glitter from my stash to make some of the cookies look like they’re sugar coated.  You can also see the sparkle from the EP in my sentiment.

Probably hard to see the bit of shimmer inside the cocoa mug and on the candy cane that I covered with my glitter brush pen, but it’s all shimmery and sparkly in person.  I colored up the mug with my Copic markers and fussy cut out the image.

I hope that you’ve enjoyed my cozy Christmas cookie scene here and are inspired to pull out your favorite Holiday sweets to play along with us too!  Please be sure to stop by the {Cupcake Inspirations} Challenge Blog to see more inspiration from the DT Sweeties!  Looking forward to seeing your creations there!

Thanks for popping in today friends!  I’ll be back very soon with a special post!

Card for Santa’s Friend and Christmas Projects from Whimsy Retreat!🎅

Hello there friends!  I hope that you enjoyed Thanksgiving Day for those of you that celebrate.  It’s difficult not being able to celebrate the holiday in the usual way with sitting at the table with family and I really miss them all so much and look forward to being able to hug them tightly in the future.  I did have a nice dinner with hubby and we stuffed ourselves, also enjoyed spending time with each other.

After Thanksgiving comes the “Black Friday” shopping which I don’t go out and do in the department stores anyway let alone during this time, but I do enjoy taking advantage of deals online!  Did you shop any sales or plan to this weekend?

Today I have a Christmas card that I’ve made for a very special individual with Down Syndrome.  He has a very weakened immune system and is unable to go out and visit Santa like he usually does (6 times at least each year)!  Santa is his friend, and he doesn’t understand why he can’t see him and thinks he’s been “bad” this year. 😥 Although he is an adult in age, he doesn’t understand with his mental handicap and his mother has asked if people would help in sending a Christmas card to him.  Of course, THIS is the reason I love making cards!   Here’s the card I made for Danny:

I was trying to go through all of my stamps that had a Santa and the first one that came to my mind was this older Stampin’ Up! stamp set called “Jolly Old Saint Nick” and it’s one of my favorite images for a Santa!  I love how he’s got that “wink” going!

I colored him up with Copic markers and cut it out with a stitched round rectangle die and then layered it over a piece of red mirror cardstock that was cut with a rounder punch.  For the design of this card, I’ve used a current sketch challenge (see below this post).  I found some festive papers in my stash and cut the strips that I rounded the corners on with the punch as well.  For the middle strip, I used some more of the red mirror cardstock and ran it through a brick embossing folder before attaching it to the other pieces.  I layered them over a white A2 sized side folding card base that I also rounded the corners on as well.

For the sentiment, which also came from the same stamp set, I heat embossed it with Brutus Monroe Christmas Eve EP over a piece of white cardstock and cut it out with a banner die and cut off the edge of the card.

Here’s a closer look at Santa and how I’ve colored him in.  I couldn’t resist giving him white highlights on his cheeks with a gel pen.  You can see the beautiful mirror effect with that embossed middle strip as well as the pretty sparkle in the sentiment from that EP I mentioned above.

And of course, I wanted to make the outside envelope that it’s getting mailed in just as fun!  I took a diagonal striped stencil and inked it up with red ink along the bottom on both sides.  I also had a fun “Postal Christmas” stamp set (unknown) and stamped a few of those all over the envelope in red and green inks.  I sure hope that he enjoys this card and helps to bring a smile to let him know that Santa KNOWS he’s been good! 😉

I had also told you in a previous post that I was still working on projects from the Whimsy Stamps Virtual Workshop that I participated in during October…well I’ve just been slowly enjoying completing them as I go, and I saved the Christmas projects for last for this reason! LOL!  I’m getting closer to finishing up all of those projects!  (Only 3-4 left to do I think!)  For now…here’s some Christmas projects from the retreat:

This was for kit 8. What’s fun about this card is that there is an action wobbler behind the pile of treats she’s holding! I had fun coloring her up and I couldn’t stop playing with the wobbler! LOL! PS: This is a good reminder for the {Cupcake Inspirations} challenge too!😋😉
This was for kit 13. I slightly changed up the card, but not much. I actually made a shaker with the jar and put some acetate behind it and then I also added a tag and silver ribbon at the top of the jar. I paper pieced the fairy’s gift box instead of coloring the strips too. I love the colors in this one!
This slimline card was for kit 17. All of the dies were actually really fun to color and arrange to create a scene with. I didn’t change things up too much with this one other than covering the bottom snow with glitter and then adding a sentiment onto the bottom of the frame. I splattered the sky with white paint instead of using a white gel pen.
And this fun bookmark was for kit 18. The ink blended colors were similar to the above card, but I colored in the letters with a white pencil and then used a gel pen to trace around the letters. I white heat embossed some snowflakes and added doodles with gel pens as well as pearl drops. I also added some tinsel ribbon to go along with the twine given. I might use this as a tag…not sure yet.

That was a rather long post!  I’m a bit behind and trying to catch up with my projects, posting right now.  I hope that you’ve enjoyed my projects today and have been inspired to get some festive projects going!  I’ll be back very soon with another project and challenge reminder soon!

Holiday Sweets for {Cupcake Inspirations}!🥧

Hello friends!  Hope that you’ve enjoyed your weekend!  Thanksgiving is coming up this week and the full Holiday Season has begun and one of the things that most people are thinking about (at least my family anyway!) are those wonderful “Holiday Sweets“!  Yum!😋

This is also our new challenge for the next 2 weeks over at {Cupcake Inspirations}!  So I hope that you are able to start (if you haven’t already) thinking about creating something crafty with those “Holiday Sweets” in mind and join along in the fun with us!  Here’s what I’ve come up with for this challenge:

I remember times with my kids when we did the “milk and cookies” you leave for Santa along with your nice letter about some things you wish for him to bring you. We always wrote the letters to Santa and made sure that we put out the cookies…and usually hot cocoa on Christmas Eve.  There were always candy canes on the tree to pluck off to stir your hot cocoa with as well!

I remembered this fun little Simon Says Stamp Christmas card kit (Christmas Squad) that I hardly made a dent in to use at all, so it was really great to pull out these adorable Doodlebug items with a “milk and cookies” theme in the papers and images! I had unopened packages of cut out images which is the table with the lamp, Santa letter and mug on it.  I took the doggie image from the stamp set, stamped, colored and used the coordinating dies to cut it out with and popped it over the table image panel with foam tape. This panel was cut with a Wonky Stitch Rectangle die as well as the background papers.  I layered everything over an A2 sized top folding red card base.  The image panel was also layered over some of this red cardstock as well after sponging around the edges with some light blue ink.

Lastly, I took a sentiment from the same stamp set and white heat embossed it over another piece of red cardstock that was cut out with a banner die and popped up underneath the image panel with foam tape. (I thought it was the perfect sentiment to add especially for this year to someone you miss!)

Here’s a closer view of the images that I’ve put together onto this panel.  The pup was colored with my usual Copic markers and I’ve used a silver gel pen to color in his collar tag with.

I also had some Doodlebug stickers with the kit and added the bitten cookie with a smile face next to the other cookie on the table.  I also added a candy cane enamel sticker to the table as well as the heart enamel stickers above the table.

The strip of papers in the center of the card came from the backside left over piece that was cut out from the milk and cookies panel in the background.  The colors matched up nicely with the images.

I hope you’ve enjoyed my “Holiday Sweets” card today and it has brought you a smile, a special memory or inspiration.  If you need more inspiration for this challenge, please be sure to check out the {Cupcake Inspirations} Challenge Blog to see the rest of the DT sweeties and what they came up with!  Can’t wait to see what you come up with!

Thanks for stopping in and I’ll be seeing you soon!

**WISHING YOU ALL A VERY HAPPY, HEALTHY AND BLESSED THANKSGIVING**

Retirement Time and More Whimsy Stamp Workshop Retreat Projects

Hello there friends!  It’s hard to believe that we’ve made it to November and rounding the corner to end 2020!  It’s been a very strange year all the way around, but I have to say that it’s a bitter sweet day today as hubby will have his last day of work on his 40 year career as an electrician.  So today I’m dedicating my post to him:

This would be a perfect situation for my hubby and something he talked about all the time…which was to go out to the lake, relax, enjoy some fishing time on a boat including staying in a cabin.  Sure look forward to spending some time with him doing just that next year too!⛵🌅  He is a hard worker and certainly deserves it.

The stamp set that I’ve used for this card was a perfect scene image from Whimsy Stamps called Happy Place.  I colored it up with Copic markers and cut it out with an oval die and layered another oval piece from black cardstock.

I found some papers in my stash that I thought would be perfect with this, so I’ve used the Whimsy Stamps Pierced Border Trio Dies to cut it with to fit half-way on my A2 white side folding card base.  Before attaching the piece down over the base, I took some Mustard Seed Oxide Ink and sponged across the middle of it and then used some Tumbled Glass Oxide Ink slightly at the top.  I then attached all piece including the image panel.

I took the sentiment from the Happy Place stamp set and stamped one of the sentiments at the top of the oval panel and then I white heat embossed the “relax” sentiment over black cardstock and cut it out with the Whimsy Stamps Quick Strips die set, glued it along the edge and trimmed off the excess.  Lastly, I’ve added some Whimsy Stamps It’s a Party Enamel Dots.

Then of course I wanted to share the inside of the card which you can see that I’ve used the same image from the stamp set from the front of the card and just stamped that in a lighter grey ink color.  I masked off the edge of the inside of the card so it didn’t stamp completely.  I also used it in the same way on the envelope as well.

For the greeting, I took the Whimsy Stamps Happy Large Word Die and cut it out with some black cardstock and then attached it with liquid glue.  I stamped the “retirement” greeting right underneath it from the Whimsy Stamps Happy Sayings stamp set with black ink.

It may be hard to tell in the photo above, but I’ve also taken a glitter brush pen and went over the sun as well as the water for some added sparkle.

This card was actually fun to put together and I was thinking about the future and all the things we had talked about the last few years and getting ready for this day.  Things are a bit different than we had envisioned of course, but we will have “our time” for sure.  We’re so excited about it!

This card is being handed to him this morning while we have our coffee before he leaves for work on his last day!😀

And now I also have some more finished kits that I’ve been working on since the Whimsy Stamps Virtual Workshop Weekend!  I’m still really enjoying finishing them up and still have MANY more to do!  I’m so amazed at how much we received and very happy that there were several Christmas projects which I’ll be working on next!  For now…here’s more of the finished kits:

This was for kit 12 and I LOVED the cute dragon in the purples! This card is going to my youngest grandchild as she is my “PURPLE girl”!!
This is the INSIDE of Kit 12. It was a really cool “FUN FOLD” design! I put my image off to the edge so I had room to write a message.
This was for Kit 6 and the entire scene was made using Copic coloring including the sky background! The squirrel and pumpkins were popped up with foam tape.
This was for kit 21 and my first time practicing with no-line coloring!
This was for kit 22. This mega large sunflower is gorgeous! Loved coloring and fussy cutting it out!

I hope you’ve enjoyed my projects and post today!  I sure have been having fun just playing and trying out different things with my cards.  I do look forward to finishing up these kits as we get near the Christmas time!  So be watching for more of those!

Thanks for dropping in with me today and I’ll see you again soon!

Color Challenge Reminder Bagged for {Cupcake Inspirations}

Happy Monday morning to you friends!  As I have pre-scheduled this post, I’m sure that I’m probably worn out from a weekend of crafty fun!🥱  Sleeping is over-rated anyway, right?!😆  (I will share some fun things with you all later though!)  But for now, I’d like to remind you about our color combo challenge for {Cupcake Inspirations} and hope you will join in the fun with us using Olive, Red & Lavender:

From my last post, I’m continuing on with making Halloween treat bags for my grands so I thought I’d pull out the colors that would work for this color combo challenge too! Plus, I’m also adding this to another entry for the Whimsy Stamps 31 Nights of Halloween:

I fell in LOVE with those Whimsy Stamps Haunted papers!  I thought it would be a fun backdrop for this darling little Whimsy Stamps Frankie digital stamp to be in front of!  I colored her up with Copics and fussy cut her out and popped her up over the background paper.

Before I placed the background paper over the bag, I took the Batty Stencil from Brutus Monroe and went over the paper sack with some Black Soot Distress Ink.  I cut a couple of strips of cardstock to go with the color combo and white heat embossed the sentiment from the Whimsy Stamps Corny Candy Corns stamp set.  I’ve also added a couple of the silver mirror cardstock stars around it and then used some foam squares to pop up the Frankie girl with.

To close up the treat bag, I folded over the top and then punched a couple of holes in the top and added a tag from a paper pack in my stash, rubbed some Black Soot Distress Ink around it and tied it on the bag with the olive colored yarn string that was tied in a bow.

Here’s a closer look at the colored up image and how I’ve incorporated the colors into it.  I did use a silver metallic gel pen to color in the “bolts” on the sides of her head and then used a white gel pen to dot her eyes and cheeks with.  I think that hair is my favorite part about her!  She’s just too cute to spook, I think!😁

Thanks so much for dropping in today!  I hope you’ve enjoyed my project and I’ll be seeing you again soon!

Crafty Chefs Cooking Up Some BOOs and Stamp Joy Results!👻

Hello there friends!  I know that my blog doesn’t appear to look as if I’ve been doing much, but the exact opposite is happening right now! LOL!  I’ve been busy crafting away and feeling a bit overwhelmed to say the least!  Now that I have my computer issues solved, hoping I can get back into things and get caught up!  Videos are in cache and I also am REALLY excited to be doing the Whimsy Stamps Virtual Retreat this weekend and it starts tonight and lasts through Sunday too!  Woohoo!! – – – – So more crafting is coming!  Snacks are stocked and the craft table is ready to go!!😉

Today I have this fun little Halloween treat bag to share that I’ve made for one of the grands and I thought I’d pair it with the Crafty Chefs October Recipe. (Check out the link if you’re interested in joining in the recipe fun with us!) AND I’m also including this into the fun annual Whimsy Stamps 31 Nights of Halloween too!

So I pulled out these stack of paper lunch bags I had and thought it would be a great little bag to decorate for the grands…I have more coming, but I’ve pulled out some papers and I had so much fun coloring up this darling digital image by Crissy Armstrong from Whimsy Stamps called “Boo!” – of course!

For the Crafty Chefs October recipe, the lovely Carol has given the following recipe for us this month:

Must Have:

  1. Add a Tag (from previous chef)
  2. Have or create a pocket
  3. 2-3 colors next to each other on the color wheel
  4. Use a die

Can Have:

  1. Mirror Cardstock (passing onto next chef)
  2. Charm
  3. Stitching

I cut out the image with the Whimsy Stamps Notched Square Dies and then cut out a yellow and an orange panel to layer behind it. (colors for recipe)  I’ve also used a strip of the orange cardstock to go above and below the spooky eyes decorative paper from my stash.  I used a black marker to add stitch marks to the strips. (stitching for recipe)  I’ve also used some silver mirror cardstock to cut out the “boo” letters from the Whimsy Stamps Boo die set and attached it at the bottom with the swirly eyes too. (mirror cardstock for recipe)  I also added some tiny stars from the mirror cardstock to each corner of the image panel.

And lastly for the Crafty Chefs recipe, I’ve used foam tape to pop up the image panel and left a section that fit around my orange die cut tag from an older Whimsy Stamps die.  I stamped the “pull” word on it, punched a hole and added a string so it was easier to grab.  Check it out below to see the tag…

When you lift the tag up, you can see the cute little ghost with a message. It was from a Halloween paper pack in my stash that I glued over the orange die cut tag. I took a white gel pen to add more stitching detail to it.

Here’s also a closer view of the image I colored up with Copic markers. I thought it would be fun to add a moon behind the ghost, so I just drew it in with my Copic markers and added a fun yellow glow behind the images. I also covered it with a glitter brush pen and then I took some Stickles glitter and added it to the pumpkin’s face. I also took a white gel pen and dotted the inside of the ghost’s eyes…thought it would give it character.

For the background behind the image, I took a cloud stencil to blend in some clouds with Black Soot Distress Ink.

I hope you’ve enjoyed my Halloween treat bag today! Check out the challenges I’m entering it for below!

So last weekend I was involved in another virtual stamp retreat from Taylored Expressions called Stamp Joy.  As I had mentioned, it’s so much fun to experience the “in person” part of it, but I think they did such an amazing job with it and it was so much fun to be apart of the crafty fun and laughter.  Here’s my results:

I have so many cards and I have even started up a collection of FOUR Christmas cards for the year! Yay!

I decided to participate in the FULL experience of it, so I opted to do the Friday classes which are the top left 4 butterfly cards I completed. I love the projects we received for everything and I know I’ll be making more things!

The other cards were all created for the 7 different Make-n-Takes on Saturday. One of the seven was the total of mass produced set of 4 snowflake cards. I have tweaked a few things about the cards here and there, but not much was changed as we were pretty much provided everything needed including some cool products!😀

At the bottom, I took a photo of one of the stamp sets that was provided to use for the event. There was no graphic photo on this stamp set as it was left blank because it was especially put together for this event. It’s a collection of certain stamps in several of the most popular sets from their store which we used throughout the Make-n-Takes. So what I did was take a sharpie marker and wrote: “Taylored Expressions Stamp Joy 2020 Pandemic Edition”. LOL

Thanks so much for stopping in today my friends!  I will be very busy crafting away this weekend, so I’ll be having fun and seeing you all very soon!  Hope you have a wonderful weekend ahead!

Birthday Penguin Slimline🐧

Hello friends!  There are SO many things going on this month and I’m having such a hard time keeping up with all of it!  After having some computer issues and trying to figure out what’s going on…I realized how far behind I am with my crafting!  I have waaay too many new things I want to play with too!  Really hate it when that happens!🤨😅  Totally missed out on World Card Making Day this year…however…

..before the WCMD “Inspired By” challenge ends over on the Whimsy Stamps Inspiration Blog, I wanted to be sure to play along which is using one of the design team’s projects for inspiration to create your own project:

I have made this fun slimline card using the Whimsy Stamps Penguin Poop stamp set along with the Whimsy Stamps Slimline Connected Bubbles die for my card today.  I am a huge penguin fan and these guys crack me up so much!

I wanted to keep the colors in a cool tone.  Over a piece of Bristol Smooth watercolor paper, I’ve cut it down to fit over a black side folding 3.5″ x 8.5″ slimline card base.  (I use the 8.5″ measurement because I find the size easier to use with a piece of 8.5″ x 11″ cardstock.  Then I only need to cut at 7″ on the long (11″) side and score in half at 3.5″ on this same side.  I am then left with another piece for layering over the slimline card if I choose.)  It’s easier to remember also…which is something good for me right now! LOL!  I digress…

I’ve used the Pink and Main blender brushes to ink blend Weathered Wood, Shaded Lilac, Broken China and Stormy Sky Distress Oxide inks for the background and then I used a water spritzer to make the droplet pattern over it.

I’ve cut the Slimline Connected Bubbles die from some Brutus Monroe Mermaid Glitterstock and glued it over the ink blended background.  I had a left over border of a punched out goo drip from white glitterstock, so I used the die to cut out pieces to glue over top of some of the circles from the die.  I stamped the sentiments inside a couple of the circles where I wanted with black ink and then used some foam dots to pop out the stamped and fussy cut penguins.

Lastly, I’ve taken a black marker to make some stitch marks along the edges of the ink blended panel and glued on some clear sparkling crystals.

Here’s closer view of one of the penguins.  It was very easy to grab a couple of Copic markers to color them in with and they were pretty easy to cut out along with the balloon.  I’ve used a black twine to connect the backside of the balloon and added a dab of glue to the penguin’s hand.

I used a glitter brush pen over the balloon and then added some glossy accents to both of the penguin’s big eyeballs.

This was such a fun card to create and it will be perfect for a winter birthday I will have coming up soon!🥳  The way I’ve been crafting behind, this will help out to have ready on hand when I need it!

Thanks so much for stopping in today friends!  I hope you’ve enjoyed my slimline card and that it has brought you a smile!  I’ll be seeing you again soon!

Sports Reminder for {Cupcake Inspirations} Challenge

Hello friends!  Stopping by with a reminder today that there are still a few days left to join our “Sports” themed challenge over at the {Cupcake Inspirations} blog!  Hope you will join in the fun with us!

It’s that time of the year over here in the U.S. for Fall football season and I have some male family members that enjoy watching it along with having birthdays around this time which brings me to making these type of cards for them!  So this challenge has worked out really well for that!  So here’s my second card for this challenge:

I’ve pulled out this older Stampin’ Up! stamp set that I refused to part with just for this reason because I knew that I would be using it down the line…which is the “Great Sport” stamp set.  (I think it’s maybe circa 2013?)

I think the embossing folder is just as old if not older than the stamp sets that I’ve used as it has that pattern on it that would remind you of the football texture.  (pigskin leather as the guys say)  I’ve recently picked up some sport themed decorative papers and thought I would use a strip down the center of my design and then I’ve also used the same pattern to stamp the wings and football images over that were all fussy cut out with scissors.

For the navy banner in the background, I’ve used a die cut to cut it out with and then stamped some stars with white ink over it and then sponged around the edged of it as well.  I took another strip of orange colored cardstock and stamped a fun birthday greeting over it and then added some stars around it that were punched out from navy cardstock.  All of these layered were attached over an A2 sized top folding navy card base.

Really thought it would be fun to add an interactive detail to this card as well by adding a wobbler to the back of the football image.  So when you put your finger along the side of the ball, it will wobble.🏈😂  (something fun for the birthday guy to play with!)

For the decorative papers I’ve used, I took a sand block to distress the edges a bit and smooth out the edges of my fussy cutting details.

Hope this will help bring a smile!

Thanks so much for dropping in today and I’ll be seeing you soon friends!

On the Farm Reminder for {Cupcake Inspirations}

Hello friends! I hope that you’ve enjoyed your weekend. I’m still spending some time with my husband as it’s a long Labor Day weekend for him. The weather over our way will certainly start to shift now and I’m looking forward to everything Autumn which is my favorite time of the year! Such a great time to be outdoors before the Winter sets in!

Today is our midway reminder over at the {Cupcake Inspirations} challenge blog with our “On the Farm” theme.  So if you haven’t played along with us yet, I hope you’re able to share your project with us within the next week!  We are enjoying seeing the wonderful creations so far!

Here’s my reminder project for this week:

I decided to pull out one of my past card kits that I didn’t get much a chance to play with and put together a card with that Farmhouse Friends stamp set included with it.

There were lots of different textures included with the kit including that piece of buffalo check pattern mesh fabric that I put a layer of red cardstock, included in the kit, behind it.  I ran a piece of brown cardstock through an embossing folder as well as stenciled a cloud background over one of the printed panels included in the kit.  I also took some copper DecoFoil Transfer papers and foiled over the printed barns on it.  I put together this fun layout with those different pieces, cut them up and then die cut the entire panel with a Wonky Stitched Rectangle die from MFT.  I used the die again to cut an additional panel out with some kraft cardstock.

That layer is where I’ve added the stamped, colored and cut out images from the stamp set.  I’ve also stamped a sentiment from the set at the bottom of the panel as well.  I layered this piece over some more of the brown cardstock and popped it up with foam tape.  Before attaching it to the panel, I wrapped some twine around the front panel and added a bow next to the animal panel. I added another layer of brown cardstock behind this and attached it all to an A2 sized top folding kraft card base.

Here you can see the shine from where the printed barns were foiled over the cloud stenciled background.

There was a “stain pen” included with the kit that you could actually use on the tiny wooden fence also included in that kit which you can see as a prop in my photo.  But I used it to color in my stamped fence on the card this time.  I’ve also taken a white gel pen for highlights on the animals and then I added some glossy accents to the chicken’s head, the pig’s nose and the sheep’s eyes which you can sort of see the reflection of light over those parts.

I lastly added some real wooden dots over the design including in the center of the twine bow.

Have you ever been to a farm or are familiar with the setting of a farm?  I grew up out in the country and have pretty much lived most of my life either near a farm or in a rural small town setting, so farm surroundings are very familiar to me and I forget that not everyone has had the experience of it.  I can’t imagine not being able to hear the sound of a cow “moo” for instance.  If you’ve not been on a farm, it’s quite an experience and lots of hard labor, but also a rewarding experience at the same time…so check it out sometime in your life if you can!

Hope you’ve enjoyed my creation today friends and thanks for stopping in!

{Cupcake Inspirations} Bithday Celebration Day 12 -Party Ending Soon!

Here we are friends!  This is my final day of inspiration to share with you on Day 12 of the special celebration over at {Cupcake Inspirations} for our 500th “birthday celebration” challenge!!  WHAT A PARTY IT HAS BEEN!! WOW!🧁🎉

Today, we are highlighting with our last but not least sponsor Inky Stamper – Please check out the challenge blog for more details about this sponsor.

The DT was generously given a stamp and die set to use for our creations:

I have used this Oh so adorable Cupcake stamp and die set for my 4.5″ square card design.  So I thought it would be fun to create a fun little scene where you have the mouse coming out of his little “mouse hole” in the wall where he discovers this delicious looking cupcake with the sprinkles falling about! 😂

I started by masking off the middle of the square panel and created the “floor” by ink blending from the middle out.  I then moved my masking by covering that area up and used the negative from an oval die cut area to ink blend the “mouse hole” on the scene.  Lastly, I wanted it to look like a “wall”, so I just took a brick stencil and inked over it to go around the “mouse hole”

I stamped, colored and die cut the image and then popped him up with foam tape over the scene and stamped the sentiment underneath him.  I just glued on the sprinkles for the card.  I mounted the image panel over a die cut scallop square and then added a strip of sparkle washi tape over the card base.  (The scallop square panel was popped up with some craft foam.)  Hard to see in the photo, but I’ve brushed some glitter over the cupcake frosting!

Thank you so much for joining me here every day to check out the inspiration I’ve made from each of our sponsors.  I’m so glad that you took the time to celebrate right along with us!   I’ll be seeing you soon!
