Blog problems

Hey friends. I seem to be having some issues here and trying to figure things out…sorry if you’re experiencing any problems here. I’ve been contacted by several people about not even able to access the website. Not sure what’s going on. Thank you for taking the time to stop by or to leave a comment. I appreciate it so much!

Time to Move On…

Hello friends!  It’s a sad/happy good-bye today.

I wasn’t sure weather or not I was going to be typing this up at the beginning of this year or not, but with the way the world has been with covid, it actually has given me a reason to “put this off” for a while.

I had actually planned on making this post last year around the time my husband retired from his job as we had lots of plans and my time would be occupied with other things besides having a blog, being on design teams, etc.  When covid happened, it really haulted most all of our plans and was really disappointing, but hopefully now with vaccines coming shortly we can “get back” to some type of normal soon.  We still plan on continuing with our plans as we get closer to those goals we set ourselves and we look forward to enjoying our lives!

That’s the “happy” part of this post is the looking forward to what’s coming and the enjoyment of life together with my husband… but the sad part is saying good-bye to all of my wonderful and faithful friends that have followed me here and everywhere I’ve been on the Internet for several years.  I thank you SO MUCH for your kind support, friendship and inspiration that you’ve always given and I will miss that most of all for sure.

But in talking with my husband, it’s time for me to say good-bye to being on design teams along with struggling to try and post something on a regular basis.  I’ve had a blog for the most part on different platforms since 2006 and that’s quite a while to be doing this.  I’ve had so many different experiences, made so many different projects and have met and made so many different crafty friends.  It’s been such a rememberable experience in so many different ways and I’m thrilled you have come along and touched my journey in some way.  It was meant to be, but now it’s time for me to move on to something different.

No, I will not be giving up crafting all together.  As long as I have time to set aside for crafting, I will continue to do it, but it will be a very random thing.  So I’m not giving up crafting, just pacing myself and what I want to do.

I will not be on Instragram any longer nor have a Facebook Page.  Just my personal FB account and that’s all.

In the words of a REO Speedwagon song…”I know it hurts to say good-bye, but it’s time for me to fly.”

Happy crafting, stay healthy and happy sweet people!💗💗💗

Guest Design Spot for The Paper Girls With Birthday Fun!

Hello friends!

I’m very excited to share my post with you today for The Paper Girls Challenge as I’ve been invited to be a guest designer for their current challenge of “BIRHTDAY“!  We all need birthday themed projects, so this is a great way to join in the fun and add to your birthday card stash too!  Hope you will join us!

I wanted to pull out some stamps that I had bought a while back and never pulled out to use yet, so this was fun!  Here’s my card:

Who could resist a couple of cute party animals! LOL!  I’ve pulled out this adorable “Sending Sweet Celebration Wishes” stamp set from My Favorite Things and made a fun party scene with it!

For the card front, I’ve die cut some Summer Splash cardstock with the Gift Box Cover-Up Dienamics and then used it to also cut some older MFT pattern papers to fit inside the die cut squares.  I layered these pieces over a piece of MFT Daffodil cardstock (looks to be retired) and then mounted it over an A2 sized top folding white card base.

I’ve used the same Summer Splash cardstock to stamp the sentiment from the stamp set and used a banner die to cut it out with and used the Gift Box Cover die to cut the end of it to match with the upper right box area.

For the Gift Box Cover-Up “frame”, I took a sentiment from the MFT Penguins in Paradise and stamped the “cheers” image randomly with VersaMark ink all over it, but then decided that you couldn’t see it very well, so I added the word to the yellow banners with a black pen in my own writing.

I’ve used the coordinating die set for the Sending Sweet Celebration Wishes set to cut out the colored images and attached them to the card front.  Some I’ve popped up with foam tape and the others were glued.  I also wanted to add a little sparkle, so I’ve attached a few confetti sequins to finish it up.

Here’s a closer look at the coloring I’ve done on these cuties.  I’ve used a white gel pen for their cheeks as well as adding some polka dots to the party banner.

You can see where I’ve used a marker to write the words on the banners and I also used it to create stitches along the top of each banner too.

I’ve also added some shimmer with a glitter pen over the cupcake frosting.

Christmas for a Cleaning Lady

Hello friends!  As I continue on here with my “Countdown to Christmas” sharing, I’ve also received a request for a Christmas card that I needed to work on along with my own Christmas cards! LOL!  The request was from someone that wanted me to make something special for their “cleaning lady” and here’s what I came up with:

I actually didn’t realize how hard it was to find  a variety of this type of occupation in a digital stamp.  (I didn’t have time to purchase anything and wait for it to get here, so I had to look up something in digital format.)  This person was requesting this type of image specifically and so I sent photos of different images I found and this is the one that was picked out for me to color.

I’ve not heard of this company before, but in searching for this type of image and the one that was ultimately picked is called Spring Cleaning-Version 1 from Cute As A Button Stamps and Design.

Because it needed to be a Christmas card, I needed to make it more “Christmas” than “Spring”…so I just tried using more traditional Christmas colors with it.  Found a nice plaid background paper with a pretty die cut to go along the edge that was cut from some silver mirror cardstock and then added the Christmas sentiment with a bow from some seam binding and then a twine bow with a glossy dot in the center.

Here’s a closer look at the coloring I’ve done on the image.  The eyes were requested to be brown, but I just took the image and again, added in the red and green colors for a Christmas themed look to it.

For the vacuum wheel, I added a silver brad in the center and the handle was colored with a gel pen as well as the “grommets” on her shoes. I used a white gel pen to create the “dots” on the bottom of her apron.  I covered the pail and the liquid in her spray bottle with a glitter brush pen.  You can also see the “foam” from her pail that was made with some liquid applique.  I just heat set it to make it “puffy”.

I used a stitched rectangle die to cut her out with and then sponged on some light green around the edges.  I did the same for the sentiment that was cut from a stitched circle die and then layered with a green piece cut from a scallop circle die.

I think the colors and the silver accents really helped pull this together for a fun Christmas card tailor fit for a “Cleaning Lady”!

The person who commissioned the card has received it and was very pleased with it and even gave me an extra tip for it!  That was not necessary, but very appreciated of course!  I’m happy that it was well received and I enjoy the coloring too!

Hope you’ve enjoyed my share today and I’ll be back again tomorrow with some more Crafty Christmas sharing!  Thanks so much for stopping in!!

A Quick Message

Hello friends! Just want to apologize for my abscence here, but I have come down with a severe flu and it has knocked me out!  My hubby brought it home from work Friday and we have been battling with it ever since.  My energy is completely zapped.  Hopefully we will get better soon now that we have meds from doctor.  If you are sick, please stay home.

I will be back as soon as I possibly can!  Thanks for your kind support!
