It Sparkles at Cute Card Thursday!

Hello friends!  Yes, that quick and we are ready for a new challenge over at Cute Card Thursday!  This is a really fun one too!  This week we’d love to see your “Sparkles” on your creations!  We look forward to seeing what you come up with for it!

Here’s the creation I made:

Vicki-CCT553-KC-Sparkles

I have used one of our sponsor’s image this week called Reindeer and Snowman from Kinda Cute Stamps.  Now how cute is that reindeer making a snow reindeer?!  I just had to give them both a red nose!  🙂

I printed out the image on white blending card and cut it out with a wonky stitched rectangle die, and then cut out some snowflakes with silver sparkle paper along with layering the image panel over some as well.  I took a sentiment from a new My Favorite Things stamp set and silver heat embossed it over the top of the image panel.  I’ve also dotted the center of the snowflakes along with making some additional dots with some silver Stickles.

Here’s a closer view of the image.  You can see where I’ve taken a glue pen and covered the snow-reindeer with loose glitter.  I’ve also taken a Spectrum Noir Glitter Brush Pen and covered the noses as well as the snow on the ground.  I used a glitter pen to color the charm on the reindeer’s collar.

Be sure to stop by the challenge blog and check out the sparkles from the rest of the design team!  Hope you will get your sparkles out and come play!

Thanks for dropping in!  See you soon!

Here’s my card:

Vicki-CCT549-KindaCute

I thought this image was so darn cute!  I’ve used an image from our sponsor this week called Girl with Wheelbarrow from Kinda Cute Stamps.  She is busy gathering pumpkins in that wheelbarrow and looks to be on a mission with it too!  I adore that sweet little bunny along for the ride!

I’ve colored the image with Copic markers including for the ground.  I’ve taken a tiny sponge with some blue ink and very lightly sponged in a sky.  The sentiment was stamped with brown ink from an older Lawn Fawn set.  I’ve also used the Stitched Leaves die from Lawn Fawn to cut out some leaves with kraft cardstock and then sponged some color over the edges to attach to the design.

I cut out both the image panel and the orange design paper with a Stitched Scallop rectangle die set from My Favorite Things.  I’ve also cut out a tiny brown banner at the top left corner from a die set from MFT as well.  Lastly, I’ve added some gold sparkling enamel dots around the leaves.

Hope you are out and about enjoying the Autumn season!  Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today, I’m so happy to have you here!  See you very soon!

It’s Just For Girls at Cute Card Thursday

Hello friends!  Welcome to another Thursday in the month of August!  Just stopping by to share with you my creation for the new challenge this week over at Cute Card Thursday.  This week we’d like to see your “Just for Girls” creations.

We are still in August and it will be pretty warm this weekend.  Trying to think cooler thoughts lately, so my mind goes to that song from the movie “Frozen”….eventhough I have never seen it, I really do enjoy the song!

Vicki-CCT544-KCJustforGirls

I have used this really adorable image from our sponsor this week called Princess Snow which of course totally reminded me of the movie I mentioned above! 🙂  I also used that movie for the inspiration to color the image.  So I’ve kept her outfit and hair in the same color hues as the princess in the movie.  (See below for a closer look)

I had some snowflake papers in my stash and used a strip of it to go behind the image panel.  I added some pink and glitter turquoise card stock to accent with the image and also die cut a snowflake border with pink card stock as well.  I’ve used some white glitter ribbon and a snowflake accent in the center of the bow and then added a turquoise rhinestone for the center.  I took my corner chomper and rounded off the corners of the glitter paper and edges of card base.

Now with a closer view of the image, you can see how I’ve colored her and all of the shimmer and sparkle too.  I’ve colored her hair band, stars in her hair and the trim on her dress with a pink gel pen.  I’ve covered the snowball and the ground she’s standing on with dazzling diamonds glitter.  I’ve also used both a white and glitter gel pen for dots around her hair and the swirl to the left of her.  Her dress was covered with a Spectrum Noir glitter brush pen.

Hope you’ve enjoyed my card today and please be sure to stop by the Cute Card Thursday challenge blog to see what inspiration the design team has come up with too!  Hope you can join us this week for the challenge!

Thanks for stopping by!

Cute Card Thursday is Getting “Too Cute”!

Hello friends!

It’s Thursday and time for a new challenge at Cute Card Thursday!  If you are not challenged by the title of the challenge blog, then let’s get even cuter by making the challenge this week “TOO CUTE“!!  LOL!  We’re looking forward to seeing your cute creations in the gallery!

Our sponsor this week is Kinda Cute and they have kindly donated an image that I have used on my card for you today:

Vicki-CCT540-TooCute

When I saw this image, I thought this was perfect for the challenge theme!  I have used the Fairy and Snail digital stamp from our sponsor.  I printed it out and colored it in with Copic markers.  I have used a white gel pen for certain areas and I have added some Spectrum Noir clear glitter pen over the fairy wings.  I have also used some Nuvo White Blizzard Glitter Drops for some sparkle underneath the snail where it’s wet from his ‘slithering path’.

I have also taken the Lawn Fawn stamp set Stinkin’ Cute (of course) and stamped the sentiment above the image in the top right corner.  I also decided to take the solid heart from the set and stamp a few purple hearts between the characters.  I also took some linen thread to make a tiny bow because I thought the fairy would look CUTE with one on her curly hair!  LOL!

I cut the image panel out with the My Favorite Things Stitched Mini Scallop Rectangle STAX die and then sponged some Tumbled Glass distress ink around the edges of it.  I mounted it onto a piece of black cardstock and then I wanted to add some ribbon to it so I took my slot punch and punched out a hole on each end of the image panel to slip some silk purple ribbon around it.  I tied a bow and added it over top to the right side.  I then found some purple dotted papers and cut out a panel with the Lawn Fawn Large Stitched Rectangle Stackables die to cut it out with.  The purple ribbon was secured onto the back of this piece and then mounted onto a white top folding card base.  Before sticking down the image panel, I put some fun foam on the back for a bit of dimension.

Hope you like my “CUTE” card for today and I hope you’ll stop by the Cute Card Thursday challenge blog to see more CUTE inspiration and join us for the challenge this week!

Thanks so much for dropping by!  See you soon!

A Clean & Simple Cute Card

Hello again friends!  It’s Thursday and time for another Cute Card Thursday challenge!  Woot!  This week’s challenge is a Clean and Simple or CAS style theme!  I hope you can play along with us and share your CAS creations too!  We can’t wait to see what you come up with!  Here’s the card that I’ve made:

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

I have used our sponsor’s image for this week from Kinda Cute called Girl and Balloons digital stamp.  I wanted to use some soft colors for the balloons and I have used my Copic markers to color in the image.

I have also taken some distress ink and a cloud stencil to create the cloudy background behind her.  I’ve also added a stamped sentiment from my stash.  I cut the image panel down to size so that it fit inside the black stitched and scallop rectangle die cut and mounted it over top.  I used some foam tape and mounted this entire piece onto a white A2 sized top folding card base.

In this photo you can better see the details with the Spectrum Noir Glitter brush pen as well as the hightlights I’ve made with a white gel pen in her cheeks and balloons.  I had fun coloring this cute image!  Hope you’ve enjoyed it too!
