Merry Christmas Friends!

Merry Christmas to all of my friends here and I’m honored to be a little part of your life with you in some way…I hope you know that!

**This is a pre-scheduled post to wish you all a special happy day.  I’m away spending time with my family right now, so sit back with your favorite beverage for a time out and I hope you enjoy today’s long post.**

Just wanted to share BATCHES of the cards and creations that I’ve made for the Holidays this year.  I know that I make lots of creations, but for the purposes of mailing cards, I try to keep these particular cards as “mail friendly” as possible, so these are more simple in style for me, but really enjoyed making them and just had fun:

Vicki-GlitterSnowSceneSet

I tend to do bulk cards in a set of 4-6 so that I don’t get “bored” with it or run out of a certain supply or something! LOL!  So this first set of 6 cards is using the gorgeous Stampin’ Up! stamp set “Winter Woods”.  I stamped up the scene background and then covered the entire panel with double stick adhesive and then covered it with dazzling diamonds glitter.  (The deer I added is from a favorite Newton’s Nook stamp set called Serene Silhouettes.)  The white heat embossed greeting is from the Stampin’ Up! stamp set “Itty Bitty Christmas”.  (I think this set was probably my favorite to do!)

Vicki-PenguinChristmasSet

I just *had* to get these penguins in there somewhere! LOL!  These set of cards are actaully all just a bit different, but I colored up the penguins from the “Pablo the Penguin” free stamp set included with the Making Cards Magazine for December and cut them out in different ways and then mounted them onto cards.  Some of them use some of the free papers that were also included with the issue.  So this is another set of 6 cards that were mailed out.  Love those cute penguins with the different hats! LOL!

Vicki-ReindeerChristmasSet

Here’s another set of cards that I’ve made to send out, but because these were even more simple than the ones above with very little stamping involved, I made 8 of these.  (So if you’re counting, I’ve made 20 total so far…not including some other special cards I’ve mailed out to people along the way.)  – I absolutely fell in love with this die set from STAMPlorations called “Two Reindeer” and was so excited to see that I had won a gift certificate from their blog and this was something that I knew I would be getting right away!  This was cut from gold cardstock and mounted over a piece of various different Stampin’ Up! pattern paper from my stash…it’s always nice to be able to use up more of my hoarded paper stash!  The sentiment is again from the Stampin’ Up! “Itty Bitty Christmas” stamp set.

Vicki-GnomeXmasWobbler

Now I didn’t want to leave out a couple of cards that I made especially for my boys.  They know their mom likes to stamp, but they know I have to add in a bit of my goofy humor with them as well! 🙂  So of course I had to pull out this fun Simon Says Stamp “Gnome for the Holidays” card kit (sold out) to make them!  I think I ended up using ALL of the wobblers in the kit too!  I told my son that this is me wobbling with the presents about to drop everything and my hubby is trying to save everything! LOL!

Here’s a little wobbler action for you too…

And of course I had to make another card for my other son too…

Vicki-GnomeXmasWobbler2

I absolutely feel in love with all of those cute gnomes that came out everywhere this year for crafting…so I still have more that I didn’t get a chance to use, but thought this would be perfect for my son with this trendy style design…of course using a wobbler too!  And I do love him GNOME matter what! 🙂

For some reason, I thought the wobbler action on this one was more fun! LOL!  Not sure if it’s because of the weight/size or what…but cool to see the difference.

And whilst in the middle of making up all of these cards to mail out, I also had fun playing with the Christmas Advent Calendar that I had purchased from Brutus Monroe a while back.  Because it’s an “Advent Calendar” you start with December 1st and open each day.  So each day to open was pretty cool because there was a new surprise stamp inside!  So I took each day’s stamp and made a tag for each one clear up until today’s last window to open: (obviously previously opened and made to finish! LOL!)

Vicki-BMAdvent-Week1

I will show by the week.  So this is week 1 with the first 5 days opened.  The stamp that I received for each day is noticably featured in each tag.

Vicki-BMAdvent-Week2

And these are the tags made for week 2.  The angel tag was made with Deco Foil in the background.

Vicki-BMAdvent-Week3

These are week 3 tags made.  The purple colored tag on the left bottom is actually a shaker.  The window sheet was glaring in the camera.

Vicki-BMAdvent-Week4

This is week 4 of the tags.  Hubby picked out the candy canes as his favorite of all of them.  Mine was the stockings tag.

Vicki-BMAdventTags-Week5

And here is the final last week of the tags from the Advent Calendar.  Really cool to have all of these tags on hand for gifts!  I needed them! 🙂

And of course I wasn’t done with the Advent Calendar box itself because I thought I could “recycle” the little window flaps on the box because they had some cute images on them for each day…so I cut them off with my scissors after I opened that day and kept them:

Vicki-BMAdventTags-windowflaps

So I thought it would be fun to use them to create a card!  They had numbers on them, but I have covered them up in certain ways so that they’re not showing.  The cover die on the card base comes from Brutus Monroe as well.

Whew!  Now to get finished up with my wrapping and “merry making” before the big day!  I hope you are or have enjoyed yourself a wonderfully HAPPY Christmas day no matter how you’re celebrating it!  Thank you for spending some of your time here on my blog today!

Leaving you with this video of a wonderful song and light show that is just not Christmas for me without this music. Enjoy!

I’ll be seeing you soon my friends!

Cute Card Thursday – Anything Goes with Reindeer Farts

LOL!  Hey friends!  Did I grab your attention with my title today?!

Today starts a brand new challenge over at Cute Card Thursday and it’s an easy ‘ANYTHING GOES!’  Since it’s the first Thursday of the month, we are being sponsored by Whimsy Stamps!  Yay!  So please be sure to remember to add whatever creation you’re working on over in our gallery this week!

*News update:  This will be my last challenge as a design team member for Cute Card Thursday.  I have really loved being apart of the team and the wonderful ladies over there for over a year and a half. I wish them all well.  I’m sure I’ll be playing along in future challenges of course!*

Here’s the card I made with products from our sponsor:

Vicki-CCT611-WSReindeerFarts

BWHAA!! HA! HA!  Yep, I’m most positive it’s probably been that cold out over my way!  LOL!  It’s supposed to get down to the teens next week! Brr!

This hilarious digital image is called Reindeer Farts by Dustin Pike from Whimsy Stamps.  It comes with the sentiment which I wouldn’t want it without that!  LOL!  This image was released back in October, but with all of the Halloween going on, it sort of didn’t get a good “spotlight” on it, so I thought now would be a good time to pull it out and perhaps send it out to my brother for Christmas…which he’ll get a kick out of!  🙂

I started out with a white cardstock panel cut with a stitched rectangle die with the printed out sentiment at the top of it.  I pulled out the Whimsy Stamps Snow Flurry clear stamp set and white heat embossed some snowflakes in the background.  I ink blended some  Distress Oxide Inks over top of them in the colors:  Salty Ocean, Wilted Violet, Mermaid Lagoon and Blueprint Sketch.  I sprizted some water over it, dapped it with a paper towel and once completely dry, I stamped out some more snowflakes in a few of the Distress Oxide Inks over that to give it a little depth.  The ink marks left over the white snowflakes were easily wiped away because the heat embossing resists the inks.  I covered this entire panel with a Shimmer Spray.  (You can see it in the photo below!)

I layered this piece onto a purple cardstock base and then layered it over a blue piece of cardstock cut from a stitched A2 sized rectangle die which was then mounted over a top folding A2 sized white card base.

I’ve used some White Glitterstock and cut a “snow hill” for the deer with a stitched hillside border die and glued that to cover the entire bottom of the card.  I also took another strip of that Glitterstock and used my MS goo border punch to create the small border above the sentiment, which generates a more “cold feeling” to the card.

I’ve printed out the deer image with Copic Blending Card, colored it up with Copics and then fussy cut it out…including the “fart cloud” and popped it up over the snowy hill with some foam tape.

Before attaching it to the glittery snow hill, I took a couple of Copic markers to create a bit of shading for the deer standing on the snow.  I also took a white gel pen and added some dot markings on the back of the deer.

You can also see where I’ve added some glossy accents to his eyeballs and I even took some Star dust glitter and added it to the snowflake in the “fart cloud”.  🙂

Let it Snow for 2 Crafty Critter Crazies

*This is post 1 of 2 posts today*

Hello friends!  Happy November!  The weather has come in full force with the several inches of snow that came over our area on Halloween!  I blinked and Fall was over!   I don’t ever remember it snowing this early before, but I guess it’s very fitting for my card today then! LOL!

Since today is the first of the month, we begin a new challenge over at 2 Crafty Critter Crazies and the theme is always “Anything Goes + use a CRITTER” and it can be any type of crafty project you like to make!  Hope you will join us this month and share your lovely critter creations!

We are sponsored this month by The Paper Shelter and here’s the card I made:

Vicki-2CCC32-TPS

We were provided an image set to share for the team, and this beautiful set is called “Holy Night” and it comes with both the regular digital image, plus a colored version as well as some beautiful background scenes to go with it.

For my card, I printed out the “non-colored” image and used my Copic markers to color it and then used some oval dies to cut it out.  I also stamped a sentiment from Whimsy Stamps at the bottom of the oval.

I printed out the background scene paper and sponged around the edges with some blue ink that I’ve also sponged around the oval edges as well.  I added some silver metallic ribbon around the background layers and slipped the brown oval layer behind the ribbon.  I die cut some MFT snowflakes with silver glitter paper and added them around the card design.  These background layers were then mounted over a top folding white 5″ square card base.

I popped up the oval image panel with craft foam and then added a few rhinestones in the center of the snowflake over the oval and the one in the center of the bow.

Vicki-2CCC32-TPS-close

She looked a little Vintage to me and with the wintry papers, so I wanted to color her outfit in blue tones and accent with browns. For the “spots” on the deer, I used my blender 0.

I wish you could see it better in the photo, but I’ve used a gel pen for accents around her outfit trimmings including the lines of the inside of her cloak.  I also used the gel pen for the “berries” in the holy around the deer’s neck and her hair piece.

For the snowfall, I took a glue pen to add the “dots” over the image and lined the ground with it and then sprinkled some glitter over the entire oval image.

Vicki-2CCC32-TPS-flat

I hope you’ve enjoyed my wintry card today and were inspired in some way.

Please be sure to stop over at the 2 Crafty Critter Crazies Challenge Blog to see how the rest of the design team used this same digital set in different ways and join in our critter loving fun with us this month!

It Sparkles at Cute Card Thursday!

Hello friends!  Yes, that quick and we are ready for a new challenge over at Cute Card Thursday!  This is a really fun one too!  This week we’d love to see your “Sparkles” on your creations!  We look forward to seeing what you come up with for it!

Here’s the creation I made:

Vicki-CCT553-KC-Sparkles

I have used one of our sponsor’s image this week called Reindeer and Snowman from Kinda Cute Stamps.  Now how cute is that reindeer making a snow reindeer?!  I just had to give them both a red nose!  🙂

I printed out the image on white blending card and cut it out with a wonky stitched rectangle die, and then cut out some snowflakes with silver sparkle paper along with layering the image panel over some as well.  I took a sentiment from a new My Favorite Things stamp set and silver heat embossed it over the top of the image panel.  I’ve also dotted the center of the snowflakes along with making some additional dots with some silver Stickles.

Vicki-CCT553-KC-Sparkles1

Here’s a closer view of the image.  You can see where I’ve taken a glue pen and covered the snow-reindeer with loose glitter.  I’ve also taken a Spectrum Noir Glitter Brush Pen and covered the noses as well as the snow on the ground.  I used a glitter pen to color the charm on the reindeer’s collar.

Be sure to stop by the challenge blog and check out the sparkles from the rest of the design team!  Hope you will get your sparkles out and come play!

Thanks for dropping in!  See you soon!

Charmed at Cute Card Thursday

Hello friends!  I thank you all so much for your latest comments on my posts, I do read them all and appreciate what you have to say.  🙂

It is Thursday once again and there is a new challenge issued over at Cute Card Thursday which is “Charms“.  You can never have too many charms, right?  So pull one out and use it to enter a project with us this week!  We would love to see what you come up with!

We are sponsored again by the lovely All Dressed Up Stamps and here’s what I’ve made for my card this week:

Vicki-CCT542-charms-ADU

I saw this sweet little image and knew I needed to put it on a card! 🙂  I have used this adorable ADU Christmas Deer image for my design today.

My card size is a 5×5 square design.  I have used a stitched square die to cut some snowflake papers from my stash to mount onto a navy piece of card stock which I then placed over a white top folding card base.  Before placing it down, I added the white ribbon around it with the bow.

As you can see the ribbon is where I have the snowflake charm attached.  I’ve attached it with some silver thread which I’ve also used in a ‘nest’ form behind my circle image panel.  I thought it would be cute to take the silver ribbon not only for the center of my white bow, but another bow around the deer’s neck.  I die cut some snowflakes with glitter paper for accents and then added some glass enamel dots to the centers.  For the circle image panel, I colored the image and cut it out with a circle die and then cut a stitched scallop circle in navy to place behind it and then popped that up with some craft foam.

Vicki-CCT542-charms-ADU1

Here’s a closer view of the intricate coloring details on the deer.  I left his antelors plain and just colored in around them.  I used white and red gel pen for the dots.  I also took a silver glitter pen to add more dots around the snowflakes.

On the bottom of the circle I’ve attached some faux snow glitter flakes for the deer to stand on.

I hope you’ve enjoyed my card today and please be sure to check out the Cute Card Thursday challenge blog for more inspiration from the design team!  Thanks so much for stopping by!  I will have another fun post to share with you tomorrow!  🙂
