Playing with Roulette and Colors

Hello friends!  Hope your week is getting off to a great start.  I can’t believe that January is over and we’re starting a new winter month already, but at the same time I’m already feeling like this cold weather can move along faster to Spring!

Today I have a couple of creations that I’ve made using those Inky Stamper products and playing a little “Craft Roulette” too!  Chelsea was on Craft Roulette and if you’ve never seen it play out in action, take a look at the You Tube channel to see what it’s about!  She was on episode #146 and here’s my card that I’ve made with her perimeters:

I had so much fun with this and I’ve never made a tag shaped accordion card before, but it was stuck in my head to give it a try and pull out the Inky Stamper Craft Room set to create it.  The “Roulette Wheel” spun on: Double Tags, shelf/shelves, 2 shades of green and something in the background.

The two shades of green were easy with using the Doodlebug Paper Packs and adding in a few other greens to the coloring.  I’ve also made two tags and placed them inside the pocket area in the middle of the accordion design.  I used a stencil in the background of the other two panels and of course I added some crafty goodies to the shelves in Rosie’s craft room!  The accordion card was easier than I had anticipated and just made a mini slim line size design by cutting off the edges to create the tag shape.  The hole and reinforcers were made using punches and dies.  You can see that I’ve colored up, cut out “Rosie” in her craft room where she is cutting her design going through her creative head!

When it’s all folded up and closed, this is what the card looks like.  I could always add a sentiment on the back, but I thought this would be fun to send to a fellow crafter for sure!  I just wish my shelves looked this organized!  And I always try to use another thing from my stash as I pulled out lots of twine that gets thrown in a bin, so it was nice to use for the tops of each tag area. (Maybe on the back of the card, the crafter can add items to use up on their next project and display it! LOL)

And here’s another card that I’ve done for the January challenge on the Inky Stamper Inkspiration FB Group which was to use: Black, white plus one other color:

I decided to pull out the Grasshopper set and make everything in the background black and white, but just color the grasshopper in green.  All of the elements including the sentiment came from the same stamp set.  I splattered some black paint over the background and the images were colored with some cool gray Copic markers.  I white heat embossed the sentiment over black and cut it out with a banner die.

Behind the white panel, I took a piece of the black floral paper from the Doodlebug Floral & Graph Paper Pad and attached that to a white top folding A2 card base.  It was a fun and easy card to put together!

Thanks so much for “hopping” over here today!  Hope you’ve been inspired or smiled!😊

Inky Stamper Craft Room Shake Up

Hello friends!  It’s the very last day of November and also the last day as a Guest Designer for Inky Stamper too.  Really enjoyed creating with their fun products and hope that you’ve gotten some inspiration as well!  If you are ever looking for their store in the future, I will have the badge with link on the sidebar of my blog so you can find it or look for all of my posts under the “Inky Stamper” category also found on the side of this blog.

Today I’m sharing a fun way to make a full front/infinity shaker card using their products:

Rosie is having some fun cutting up paper!✂  She is from the Inky Stamper Craft Room set that I’ve colored up along with the little bottle and cut out.  This was so fun to put together and reminds me of the fun that I enjoyed during the Inky Escape event! (I will share the projects I made in a future post)  The heat embossed sentiment as well as the envelope and ink splatters in the background, came from the Inky Stamper Inky Greetings stamp set.

At a previous Inky event I went to, I learned how to put together a full front shaker in a very easy way and wanted to use this same idea for my card here.  So I started with the Inky Stamper Shaker Sealable Pouches and added a piece of 3.75″ x 5″ Doodlebug “Cute & Crafty” paper (released temporarily from Inky Stamper in the past) that I stamped the ink splatters with orange and pink inks over.  Before sealing up the pouch, I added some Iridescent Clear Shaker Garnish and some Picket Fence Crafty Friends sequence mix.  I used some Red Line Tape to attach the shaker pouch to the scallop orange piece that was layered over an A2 top folding bright pink card base.  I like this because there is no wondering if the foam tape will hold all of the bits where they’re supposed to be…so very easy!

I’ve also used the same Doodlebug “Cute & Crafty” papers to heat emboss my sentiment at the bottom and I’ve also used a pink gem from the Picket Fence Reflections.  For the “floor” of the craft room, I’ve used the Doodlebug Buffalo Check/Woodgrain paper pad and die cut a piece for the bottom that was popped up with foam squares over the shaker pouch panel.

I wanted to share a closer look at the shaker details with the pouch and the shaker goodies inside.  The sequins mix is so fun with those tiny scissors in there, can you see them?!

For the picture frame, I’ve taken one of the squares from the Doodlebug “Cute & Crafty” paper pad for the main focal of it and added some dashes along the edge.  I also sponged around it with light blue ink and cut out the little brush from the “Craft Room” stamp set after coloring it up and then glued it to the panel.  I also cut out more of the woodgrain paper for a frame look and then added a tiny piece of the Doodlebug Gray Twine behind it.  I pulled at the top and added a round foam dot to it so that it was held in place over the shaker pouch.  I then used the Metallic Transfer Foil Sheets to press over top of the foam dot so that it looked more like something hanging up the picture.

So I hope you’ve enjoyed my full front shaker card today and have been inspired to make time to make stuff too!  If you have any questions about anything here, let me know!  Thanks for stopping in today!

It’s Never Too Latte For a Friend

Hello friends!  Hope that your week has been going great so far and you’re getting ready for Thanksgiving Day for my friends in the U.S. that celebrate.  So since Christmas is coming up quickly, I thought it would be fun to share a couple of little gifts for a friend you might like to share coffee/cocoa with:

Aren’t these little mini coffee cups with the gift card holder so fun?!  I had fun making and gifting them!  Of course I love coffee, but if your friend would rather do a cocoa, that will work for this too!  I’ve used this adorable Inky Stamper Latte stamp set to create my project here with that adorable “Rosie” character popping out of the cup.  I colored and cut her out with the coordinating die.  For the “candy cane” image on the front of Rosie’s cup, as well as the “coffee ring stain” image on the coffee cup sleeve, I used the Inky Stamper Warm Beverages stamp set to accompany my design.  (There are some great cocoa images in there to trade off for the coffee too!)

These little mini coffee to go cups were found on Amazon (4 oz cups pack of 50 with lids) and there are tons of videos on You Tube on how to construct the holder for these. (Check out several from search here)  I sort of tweaked mine from a die set that I’ve had for years, but there’s no reason to buy a die if you can create without an additional purchase.  I’ve added an additional backing with a pocket and thumb opening to hold a Starbucks gift card in.

And then when you open the coffee cup, there is a great place to add some extra treats inside!  I chose to add some Bailey’s chocolate truffle candy inside of these cups.  You can also see how I decorated the cups with papers that has peppermint candies on them as well as the top of the lid, the cup sleeves with stamping and the red twine wrapped around the lid as well.  The little peppermints that I’ve added on the top of the lid as well as on Rosie’s head came from the Inky Stamper Christmas Candy Mix…love that container!  The Doodlebug red Gingham/Linen papers come from the Inky Stamper store as well.

And since the lid on the cup was not as secure as I would’ve liked it to be, I decided to wrap the entire thing inside of a gusseted cello bag and tie it up with some more of the red twine, which also made it look like a gift wrapped present too!

I hope you’ve enjoyed my project(s) today and have been inspired to create a fun gift for Christmas too!  Thanks so much for stopping in and have yourself a very grateful Thanksgiving Day!🦃

Soaking it All in!

Hello friends!  Really hope your week is going well.  My thoughts go out to all of those that are experiencing difficulties in their life and hope things turn better for you very soon.  I hope to bring a smile for you today.

I’ve really had such a fun time playing around as a guest designer this month for Inky Stamper and this will be my final project for them this month.  Chelsea has some really cute stamps and I hope you’ll check them out!  (I have the badge on the sidebar of this blog if you need to come back later to find it.  Just click on the badge to get to the store.)

For my final project, I’ve decided to create a mini slimline card with an interactive component!  If you’re not familiar with a “mini slimline” size, you take a piece of cardstock measuring 6″ x 7″ and then fold it in half on the 7″ side so that your card base is 6″ x 3.5″.  I really don’t mind any size of card really as I have been known to make my own envelopes too.  But I first learned about this “mini slimline” size from Taylored Expressions as she has many products in this size including the envelopes.  (I have used one of the “slimline stitched dies” from TE to cut one of my panels on this card.)

I’ve used BOTH of the Chaise Lounge stamp set with “Freida the Frog” (as she is named) as well as the Splash stamp set with “Rosie” (as she is named) from Inky Stamper on my card here today!  I think they’re so CUTE!  Ever have those moments with a friend floating around in the swimming pool and just soaking in the sun and some secrets?!! LOL!  That sounds like a fantastic Summer event to me!

For the “water” background, I took some Bristol Smooth cardstock and white heat embossed the “water wave” image (both stamp sets have one of these images in it).  I took out some of the Nuvo Shimmer powders from my stash and made a fun watercolor panel with them.  I haven’t used these in quite some time, so it was fun to play with and I forgot how shimmery they are!  Obviously, the white embossed waves resisted the watercolor.

I cut out the panel with the TE slimline stitched die and mounted it over a piece of dotted paper from the Doodlebug Swiss Dot Paper Pad. I stamped and colored the images, die cut them out and popped them up over the floaty tubes.  (Remember the tip about using a white gel pen to go around the edges to get rid of those lines you see when you cut them out.) I then punched a hole on this watercolor panel where I wanted the images to be so they weren’t too close to each other to freely spin around!  Inky Stamper has these awesome interactive elements called “Clear Move-Its” and I LOVE them!  They snap together and viola!

You can see bits of the shimmer from the watercolor background here too!

I popped up this panel with foam tape and then layered it over my black mini slimline card base so the spinners could move freely.  I’ve also added a black sentiment banner that was white heat embossed with the Chaise Lounge stamp set.

I couldn’t resist adding a bit more “bling” so I also pulled out the Picket Fence Mermaid Water sequins being careful not to interfere with the spinners and then filled the centers with some Stickles from my stash.  I could just keep spinning these all day long! LOL!

Really hope that you’ve enjoyed my projects this month as a guest designer for Inky Stamper and you’ll pop by to check them out!  Super fun stuff!  (Be sure to join the InkyStamper Inkspiration FB Group for more fun!)  I’m sure I’ll play with their stuff again in the future!

Thanks for popping in today and finding my posts!  Glad you’re here!
