Galaxy Powders with LOTS of projects + video!🚀⭐

Hello there friends!  I’m a tad late with my post today, but I ended up hurting my shoulder and it was a bit hard to get on the computer to type things up! LOL!  I tihnk I’ll be able to recover a bit over the weekend…I hope anyway!

So today, I’ve pulled out some media that I hadn’t gotten a chance to REALLY play with until now.  I had so much fun and decided to turn on my camera and do a video with it as well!  (I’m a bit rusty with video making as I haven’t done one for a while and hope to do some more in the near future!)

Here’s my play with the Brutus Monroe Galaxy Powders:

Vicki-BRMSpaceATCs

My first of projects here are ATCs!  Do you remember back in the day for the “older crafters” that we use to trade those ATCs at conventions and such?!  I loved getting them from people from other countries!  ATCs (aka: Artist Trading Cards) are 2.5″ x 3.5″ with info on the back to trade with other artists.  You could even transform these to place on regular cards, etc. which I’ve done before too!

I’ve taken a piece of Midnight cardstock and started playing around with these Galaxy Powders and also used the fun ATC kit for the chipboard backs and the rocket details.

To show how the Galaxy powders work up close, check out my video below!  I started by making the backgrounds and then I worked each background into finished projects…CLICK HERE if you want to see it on You Tube or just watch it below:

Sometimes it’s fun to sit and just have fun playing around getting crafty!  I just got my July Inspiration Box (card kit) from Brutus Monroe and plan on doing the same thing with that too very soon!  So I hope you’ll come back and subscribe to my video channel to watch and see what projects I come up with for it!  I may have something special planned for my viewers too!😉

And for this card, I’ve taken the Brutus Monroe High Tide stencil and went over it on Raven cardstock and brushed over it with the Galaxy Powders.

I’ve used this gorgeous butterfly from the Brutus Monroe 3×4 Take Flight stamp set and attached it over the panel along with the sentiments.  That Mirrorstock paper is really stunning and a little bit goes a long way with that!  (You can check out my video for full instruction on how I put this card together too!)

My last project here shows how I’ve used the Galaxy Powders over a stamp!  I’ve used the 3×4 Brutus Monroe Smile On stamp set for that.  It’s hard to see in the photo the pretty shine on it, so be sure to catch the video to see it in action!  I used a white pencil to highlight some details on the image too.

I used a stitched rectangle die to cut it out and then used a stitched scallop rectangle die to cut out a piece of Alabaster cardstock to layer behind it.  I used Lunchbag cardstock for the A2 sized card base panel and then used the Embossing Ink to randomly stamp the “smile face” image for the background from the So Emotional 3×4 stamp set.

I also layered on a piece of the Sequin Sheets…very cool…between the layers of the sentiment panel and white scallop layered panel to attach to my card and then I used some metallic clear ribbon over that along with a bow before popping up my main image panel with foam tape.

Hope you’ve enjoyed my projects today along with my video on the review of the Galaxy Powders and learned a few things about them!  If there is anything in particular that you’d like to learn more about in a video, please let me know!

Have a wonderful day and I’ll see you again soon!

Dare to Get Dirty Challenge Results Finale

Hello friends!  Are you glad it’s Friday?  Sometimes I think where did the week go and other times, it seems forever before we get to the weekend!  I know that although I am a homemaker, there is still something about the weekend getting here.  Hubby still works so perhaps that the reason, I’m not sure.  None-the-less TGIF!  🙂

I know you had gotten used to seeing (lots of you really enjoyed looking at them each week too!) the Friday results of ICAD, but now that it’s over, I still have a different kind of results to share with you.  As in this last Monday’s post, the following creations that I’m showing on my blog here are from the Splitcoaststampers “Dare to Get Dirty” challenges for fan club members (only) for the week long event which ends today for the challenges.  I think they’ll give you a few extra days to upload your creations just in case you need some time to complete some challenges.  If that link above to SCS does not work for you, then you need to be a fan club member to see the challenge details.  CLICK HERE for information regarding that if you are interested.

And as I mentioned in Monday’s post also, I am not able to reveal the full details of how I went about making these creations.  But, if you are a fan club member on Splitcoaststampers, then you will know exactly what I’m talking about here! 🙂

The first card here was made for Anita’s challenge:

I will say that the products I’ve used on this design are from a Brutus Monroe Inspiration Box.  (This was from a previously released box.)  I really love the cool and unique things in these kits! It was hubby’s idea to add the Starbucks gift card on the inside! LOL!  Good one hunny!  (He wanted me to give him credit for that!)  Let’s just say that I had a BLAST creating this one!  🙂

challenges for the above card:

  1.  4 Crafty Chicks – Out of This World/Space
  2. Creative Knockouts – Fancy Fold
  3. Simon Says Stamp Wednesday – Distress It (distressed edges)
  4. Sweet Stampin’ – Travel

Vicki-DTGD18ohmypaper!

This card was so fun!  It seems to be a creation that was commented on over in the gallery quite a bit.  This was made for Angie’s challenge and I really like how this one turned out too.  The little piggy, sentiment and sentiment die all came from My Favorite Things.  I paper pieced the heart for the little piggy.  🙂

challenges for the above piggy card:

  1.  Stamping Sensations (August) – ‘current’ favorite stamp (OMG this pig!)
  2. Happy Little Stampers Anything Goes with Dies – AugustHLS AG with Dies Badge
  3. Try It On Tuesday – Inspired by Song (‘Total Eclipse of the Heart‘ by Bonnie Tyler & ‘Smile‘ by Uncle Kracker)

This was for Sandee’s challenge.  I’m getting ready to be in need of some masculine cards coming up in the next few months or so, so I’m trying to get ahead of the game by having them on hand!  Let’s see how that goes!   Do you remember the cool Stamp On It products that I purchased from my Stamp Convention trip in THIS POST?  I’ve used it again on this card.

This is a challenge that is released today at the “Dare to Get Dirty” event for Kelli Jo’s second challenge.  I think it turned out pretty cool and can I just say that I wish I had this hair?!  LOL!  The sentiment was white heat embossed from My Favorite Things More Essential Sentiments and then I added some heart sequins.  And that’s all I can say about it.

I hope you’ve enjoyed seeing my creations even if you don’t understand how I’ve arrived at the completed design.  🙂    Looking back at these now, I can see how they could each fit into a masculine style category which is pretty cool!

Thank you so much for stopping through my blog and having a look!  Hope you will consider becoming a subscriber or check on updates in your favorite reader with me…I have much more to share!

Enjoy your weekend!
