Time to Celebrate at Cute Card Thursday!

Hello friends!!  I’m very excited to share my card with you today for Cute Card Thursday!  We are celebrating our 11th birthday this week!!  WOO HOO!!  So of course the theme for this week is “CELEBRATE“!!  Hope you can pop on over and celebrate with us by sharing your creation!!

This week we are sponsored by All Dressed Up Stamps and I have used one of their adorable images for my card today:

Vicki-CCT573-ADU-Celebrate

I have used this very sweet image called Time to Shine and she is having so much fun dancing around with all of the stars floating about her!

For the card, I have taken some silver sparkle cardstock and cut cut the stitched scallop frame and then placed some pretty papers behind it.  I mounted these pieces onto a piece of black cardstock as well as the image that was cut out with another stitched scallop rectangle die, also mounted with a piece of black cardstock and then added to the center of the sparkle framed panel.

I also took some pretty, pink, silky ribbon and wrapped it around the corners of these layers and also tied a bow with it that I’ve attached to the upper right corner of the wrapped around ribbon.  These layers were then mounted onto a white, top folding A2 sized card base.  Lastly, I’ve added some stars that were die cut from the same sparkly cardstock and I’ve also added one to the center of the wooden star veneer that was glued in the center of the pink bow.

Here’s a closer look at the Copic coloring I’ve done on this image.  I have added some extra sparkly details to the image by taking a Spectrum Noir Glitter Brush Pen and went over just the bottom portion of her dress.  I then took a silver gel pen and colored in the stars around her and added some dots to her dress and hair with it as well.  I wanted to create lots of sparkle and shine to this one!  🙂

Fistful of Flowers From Whimsy Stamps

Hello friends!  Hope that you are having a great week so far!  There is plenty of ice and snow over my way for the next several days, so I thought I would bring a little ‘happy’ today with a “Fistful of Flowers” from Whimsy Stamps!

Vicki-WSFistfulofFlowers-Feb12

Isn’t she the cutest?!  This was originally released as a rubber stamp from Crissy Armstrong, but this month it has been released in digital format now as well!  Weather you like to stamp your images or print them out, you may be able to have both options!  So if you have ever wished that some of the stamps you like would come out in digital form….please be sure to check the website to see if it has been re-released as a digital!

I have to be honest and say that after I had colored in the image, I was struggling with the colors of cardstock I wanted to use and it seemed that anything I picked out wasn’t quite working.  (You ever have this problem?)  My hubby came in to visit me and I told him I was struggling, so he took me over to my paper and picked out these colors and I liked it, so I went with it!  Did he do good?  🙂

I have cut a piece of yellow cardstock out and then took the WS Mom’s Layered Flowers clear stamp set (one of my old faves!) and white heat embossed the background with one of the daisy images.  I wrapped a piece of white ribbon around the yellow embossed piece that was also mounted onto a white 4.25 x 5.5 card front piece.  After wrapping the ribbon around both pieces, I added a bow and this panel was then mounted onto a white top folding A2 sized card base.

The colored image panel was layered with a blue cardstock which I’ve also cut a piece for a fishtail banner and added some daisy accent flowers to it.

This cutie has been colored up with the following Copics:                                         (Click on affiliate links below to purchase from Whimsy Stamps)

I took a glue pen and added some clear glitter over the edge of the flower petals for a bit of sparkle.  You can see that the daisy accents also have some light touches of glitter on the edges as well.

It’s Just For Girls at Cute Card Thursday

Hello friends!  Welcome to another Thursday in the month of August!  Just stopping by to share with you my creation for the new challenge this week over at Cute Card Thursday.  This week we’d like to see your “Just for Girls” creations.

We are still in August and it will be pretty warm this weekend.  Trying to think cooler thoughts lately, so my mind goes to that song from the movie “Frozen”….eventhough I have never seen it, I really do enjoy the song!

Vicki-CCT544-KCJustforGirls

I have used this really adorable image from our sponsor this week called Princess Snow which of course totally reminded me of the movie I mentioned above! 🙂  I also used that movie for the inspiration to color the image.  So I’ve kept her outfit and hair in the same color hues as the princess in the movie.  (See below for a closer look)

I had some snowflake papers in my stash and used a strip of it to go behind the image panel.  I added some pink and glitter turquoise card stock to accent with the image and also die cut a snowflake border with pink card stock as well.  I’ve used some white glitter ribbon and a snowflake accent in the center of the bow and then added a turquoise rhinestone for the center.  I took my corner chomper and rounded off the corners of the glitter paper and edges of card base.

Now with a closer view of the image, you can see how I’ve colored her and all of the shimmer and sparkle too.  I’ve colored her hair band, stars in her hair and the trim on her dress with a pink gel pen.  I’ve covered the snowball and the ground she’s standing on with dazzling diamonds glitter.  I’ve also used both a white and glitter gel pen for dots around her hair and the swirl to the left of her.  Her dress was covered with a Spectrum Noir glitter brush pen.

Hope you’ve enjoyed my card today and please be sure to stop by the Cute Card Thursday challenge blog to see what inspiration the design team has come up with too!  Hope you can join us this week for the challenge!

Thanks for stopping by!

Ribbons & Bows, Oh My!

Hello friends!  It’s Thursday time again and that means it’s time for a new challenge over at Cute Card Thursday!  This week the theme is all about Ribbon and/or Bows!

I happen to just love ribbons and think that almost everything I create “needs” to include one somewhere.  So sometimes I try to refrain from always doing it.  It’s so nice to see when a challenge comes up requesting it though!  🙂  How about you?  Are there any “ribbon lovers” like myself out there?

We are sponsored by All Dressed Up Digital Stamps this week and here’s my card using one of their images:

Vicki-CCT538-ADU

I have used this really fun image called Play Day for my card here.  Check out those cool shades! Ha!  I’ve colored it with Copic markers.  Thought she would be cute with a denim looking jacket, bow and boots!  I’ve also used some denim ribbon on my design too!

Looking through some papers in my stash, I found some pretty floral sparkly pattern and I’ve also added some stitch marks to the border of it, but I went “wonky” with it…so I decided to do a second line with more “wonky” stitch marks to even it out.

I feel like I haven’t used flowers on my cards in forever, so it was fun going through my stash to find goodies to go with this image.  The sentiment was stamped from my stash and I hand cut a banner with it to add to my card.

Hope you like my card for today!  Be sure to check out the challenge blog for more inspiration from the design team and to link up your luscious ribbon creations too! 🙂  Thanks for stopping in and I’ll see you soon!
