Ribbons & Bows, Oh My!

Hello friends!  It’s Thursday time again and that means it’s time for a new challenge over at Cute Card Thursday!  This week the theme is all about Ribbon and/or Bows!

I happen to just love ribbons and think that almost everything I create “needs” to include one somewhere.  So sometimes I try to refrain from always doing it.  It’s so nice to see when a challenge comes up requesting it though!  🙂  How about you?  Are there any “ribbon lovers” like myself out there?

We are sponsored by All Dressed Up Digital Stamps this week and here’s my card using one of their images:

I have used this really fun image called Play Day for my card here.  Check out those cool shades! Ha!  I’ve colored it with Copic markers.  Thought she would be cute with a denim looking jacket, bow and boots!  I’ve also used some denim ribbon on my design too!

Looking through some papers in my stash, I found some pretty floral sparkly pattern and I’ve also added some stitch marks to the border of it, but I went “wonky” with it…so I decided to do a second line with more “wonky” stitch marks to even it out.

I feel like I haven’t used flowers on my cards in forever, so it was fun going through my stash to find goodies to go with this image.  The sentiment was stamped from my stash and I hand cut a banner with it to add to my card.

Hope you like my card for today!  Be sure to check out the challenge blog for more inspiration from the design team and to link up your luscious ribbon creations too! 🙂  Thanks for stopping in and I’ll see you soon!

  1. too, too cute, Vicki! I admire anyone who can make bows so tiny as yours – especially from twine! Is your twine looped through the button holes, or is it glued on after? I also really like the ribbon and twine behind your flower. It’s darling, and a fantastic way of introducing color and texture! Beautiful card, Vicki, and such a fun image! hugs, de

    1. You’re so kind Donna! All I can say is that some days are harder than others to tie a bow!! LOL!! I put the twine through the holes of the button and then glued the button in the center of the flower. The twine was just the right size and so were the holes. There was a time a few years back where pretty much EVERY card I made had flowers, buttons, ribbons, charms, etc etc etc on it. Trends move on and I like mixing things up with crafting too. 🙂 I appreciate your comments friend! HUGS

  2. This has got to be the cutest girl with a pup that I have seen in FOREVER, Vicky!! How adorable!! Sensational coloring and awesome papers and embellishment!

  3. This is so beautiful Vicki, love how you coloured her and the matching papers and flowers are so pretty. I love your faux stitching and don’t forget real stitching is always a little wonky….at least mine always is! hugs Debxx

  4. What a fabulous card, like how you combined the ribbon and flowers together and those sunglasses are too cute on your beautifully colored gal!

  5. What a pretty background – and the flower with the bow is gorgeous! Thanks for entering the weekly Anything Goes challenge at the QKR Stampede. Dorothy S, DT member
