It’s a Mouth-Full!

Hello friends!  I’m back with you again to share another fun image from the Whimsy Stamps September Digital Release!

This guy is so stinkin’ CUTE and I really had fun coloring this one! 🙂  I thought this was a great image to use any time of the year really and a cute idea for also a “new home” themed card.  I have used the So Nuts About Home Digital Stamp.

After coloring the image, I went around the edges with some distress ink using my ink foam blending tool.  Mounted that onto a black layer and popped it up over the card design with some craft foam.  I die cut a leaf from kraft cardstock and used some more distress inks with the ink foam blending tool to give it a bit of color.  I then added some sparkle with some Ranger Vintage Platinum glitter and a clear shimmer brush pen.  I curled the edges a bit and attached it over the image panel in the corner.

For the background of my card, I have used the new Autumn Beauty digital papers released this month.  You can see a bit peeking out, but it really doesn’t do justice to the papers…they’re really gorgeous!  I’ve layered them onto a piece of glitter cardstock that was cut along the edge with a scallop border die and then I lined it all up along the right side of my card base.  I’ve added a piece of burlap ribbon and a button with a twine bow on the lower portion of the card before adding my image panel to it.

Here’s a closer look at this cutie and my coloring details.  He really makes me smile! 🙂

Hope you’ve enjoyed my creation today!  Thanks for sharing part of your day with me!

  1. Vicki, “cute” doesn’t even begin to describe your beautifully colored, delightfully stuffed little “chomper”. Loving your tail techniques, and the gorgeously inky layers. It says “Fall” loud and clear. So I wonder if that might happen here this year? The sky blue background in your image certainly makes all the other colors pop OUT LOUD! Gorgeous creation. hugs, de

  2. Oh, Vicki, this is so precious. Fantastic coloring, especially his stuffed cheeks and the acorn tops! Love the scalloped dies and that burlap ribbon is marvelous.

  3. There is nothing quite so amusing as a tiny critter stuffing his cheeks full of whatever he’s eating, and this card captured that thought perfectly 🙂 Great coloring and a wonderful design to show off this cute image and digital papers 🙂

  4. Such a fabulous card! I love how you coloured him, you got his cheeks full of nuts to show perfectly! The distress inking is used to great effect, love the autumnal tones you achieved and the whole design is just gorgeous! Love it! hugs Debxx

  7. Oh how brilliant – a new home card – who would have thought outside the box. The coloring is beautiful and love all your eyecandy, especially the leaf.

  8. Oh my gosh, this made me choke on my tea – how stinkin’ cute! I have that ‘plumpest’ little dog, and I swear that her cheeks look like this all the time! Thanks for the smiles on a day that I badly need them. Your card is adorable 🙂

  9. Another ever so cute card and that image is adorable. Fabulous colouring and love the offsetting of your layout. ‘Mouthful’ is the perfect header for your fabulous card x

  10. Your colors are stunning. The fur of this squirrel looks so soft and I have the impression that if I would touch it, my hand would be deeply immersed in this beautiful fur. I’m impressed !
