Whimsy Stamps March New Release!

Hello friends!  I don’t think I ever remember being so sick before! WOW!  I was literally stuck in the bed for a couple of days there!  I’ve been taking some meds from doctor and starting to feel a bit better now, just regular cold and not so much the fever and chills any more.  Thank you SO MUCH for the very kind get well thoughts as I truly appreciate that!  So glad that’s over with now!

Have you checked out the new release over at Whimsy Stamps yet?  There are lots of really adorable digital stamps this month and I’m excited to be sharing one of those with you today:

Vicki-WSBunny-NewRelease

I have used this sweet little image by C.C. Designs for Whimsy Stamps called Bunny.  (And that little bunny is too cute wrapped up in the garden hose!!)

I have also used some fun new digital papers for the background on my card here too!  I’ve printed out a piece from the Whimsy Stamps Rustic Wood and Brick Papers digital collection and used it on the background of my green card panel.

I also used some die cuts to add some fun elements to my design as well as wrap some ribbon at the top and add a white flower with a rhinestone in the center of it.  I heat embossed a sentiment in white EP over a piece of the green cardstock and cut it out with a stitched die cut banner.

I have it all colored up with my Copic markers and then I’ve used some metallic gel pens for the dots and for the water sprinkling from the hose.

Here you can better see how I’ve colored in the image and the details of sparkle with the gel pens.  I’ve used some craft foam behind the image panel for a bit of dimension too.

I’ll be back again tomorrow for some more inspiration!  Thanks so much for dropping in!!  Have a great day!!

Cuddle Bunny at Whimsy Stamps

Hello friends!  Hope you’ve had a great weekend!  The last time I posted I mentioned it was so nice that we could cook out on the grill, well this week it’s snow conditions and very cold!  With life in the Midwest, you never know what you’re going to get.

I thought it would be nice to turn that warm weather feeling to the inside of my craft room and create with this January released digital image from Whimsy Stamps:

vicki-wscuddlebunny-jan15

Fell in love with this darling image by Crissy Armstrong called Cuddle Bunny.  This had been a previous rubber stamp that is now available in digital format!  I think there are many advantages to getting a digital version:  1) It NEVER runs out of stock in the store because it’s a digital file, PLUS, you don’t have to wait for it to come in the mail!  2) You can size the image(s) whatever size you want it to be!  3) You can easily combine other images with it and arrange them as you’d like before printing it out.  4) You can color with Copic markers without worrying about anything getting smeared and lastly:  5) You can still feel like you’re “getting your hands crafty” by coloring and finishing out your creation with other products!  So, if you haven’t jumped on the “digital wagon”, an image like this would be a great one to try out!

For my card, I have colored my image with Copic markers, see the detail list below and then sponged some Tumbled Glass distress ink with an ink blending foam tool and a cloud stencil.  I then cut it out with the Whimsy Stamps Notched Rectangle dies and added a yellow layer behind it that I’ve notched out by hand.

For the background I’ve taken a piece of blue watercolor paper panel and lined the top and bottom of it with a strip of flower borders from my old stash.  I used a glue pen for the centers of the flowers and attached some glitter over top.  I added a strip of sheer white ribbon across it and attached it to a piece of shimmer luster paper whih was mounted onto a 5″ square yellow card base.

Lastly, I used some craft foam behind the image panel and attached it over my card and then added the ribbon bow with a chipboard flower in the center.

Here’s a closer look at the image where you can see how I’ve colored it.  Hard to capture in the photo, but I’ve also taken some Nuvo White Blizzard Glitter Drops and added a tiny dot in the centers of the white flowers.  I have also used the Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush and went over the butterfly.

I hope you’ve enjoyed my creation today and I thank you so much for stopping in!  I look forward to sharing another project with you tomorrow!  See you soon!

Basket of Best Friends

Hello friends!  Hope that you had a wonderful weekend!  I enjoyed spending time with hubby as he always makes me laugh…we have fun together no matter what we do!

Today I’d like to share another new creation I made from the Whimsy Stamps new August Digital release.  I fell in love with these guys and thought it would be perfect on just a simple little design:

Vicki-WS-Aug14-Pupsinbasket

This cute image is called Pups in a Basket.  I like that you can almost create any type of color or breed with this image by coloring it however you want.  So I found this adorable image online that I wanted to try and resemble the breed/coloring of:

119

Are these guys just as cute and fluffy as can be?!   I want to pet them! LOL!   Of course the real thing has got to be the best! 🙂  And how cute would it be to add a red hankerchief to one of these pups on the image?  So many fun things to possibly do with them!

I used some plaid papers I had in my stash and I wanted them to be somewhat neutral in color due to the accents of blue.  I’ve white heat embossed the banner at the top with the Whimsy Stamps Everyday Mini Sentiments stamp set.  Cut out all the panels with some dies and attached them to a top folding white A2 sized card base.  Lastly, I found some blue sequins to match and added some glitter accents to the centers.

Here’s a closer look at the image:

I’ve used my Copic markers to color it in and couldn’t help but also add some rosy cheeks with a white dot for hightlights on them too!  This was so fun to color and how fun would this be to make up for someone with a new best friend!

So what type of breed or color(s) do you see in this image?  I’d love to know what you think!

Thanks so much for stopping in today!  Hope you’ve enjoyed my card and I’ll be back again soon to share more!

Ribbons & Bows, Oh My!

Hello friends!  It’s Thursday time again and that means it’s time for a new challenge over at Cute Card Thursday!  This week the theme is all about Ribbon and/or Bows!

I happen to just love ribbons and think that almost everything I create “needs” to include one somewhere.  So sometimes I try to refrain from always doing it.  It’s so nice to see when a challenge comes up requesting it though!  🙂  How about you?  Are there any “ribbon lovers” like myself out there?

We are sponsored by All Dressed Up Digital Stamps this week and here’s my card using one of their images:

Vicki-CCT538-ADU

I have used this really fun image called Play Day for my card here.  Check out those cool shades! Ha!  I’ve colored it with Copic markers.  Thought she would be cute with a denim looking jacket, bow and boots!  I’ve also used some denim ribbon on my design too!

Looking through some papers in my stash, I found some pretty floral sparkly pattern and I’ve also added some stitch marks to the border of it, but I went “wonky” with it…so I decided to do a second line with more “wonky” stitch marks to even it out.

I feel like I haven’t used flowers on my cards in forever, so it was fun going through my stash to find goodies to go with this image.  The sentiment was stamped from my stash and I hand cut a banner with it to add to my card.

Hope you like my card for today!  Be sure to check out the challenge blog for more inspiration from the design team and to link up your luscious ribbon creations too! 🙂  Thanks for stopping in and I’ll see you soon!
